And SIKHS are merely 2 % of indian population but social services by sikh are recognized world wide. In India poor people are from every religion .. even sikhs are poor. The best part about how you film your videos is that it introduces us to the local people and allows us to see how they are. For example, in your Russia or Myanmar vlogs we could see how friendly the locals were. 1. Virtually ALL trucking companies prohibit hitchhikers for insurance reasons. If someone picks you up, either the driver is taking a huge risk or is working for a non-affiliated small one-off trucking firm. 2. The concept of hitching in the US is long gone. Rarely is it done and people and kids are taught at a young age NOT to pick up.

What we learned from this series..- 1. Hitchhiking is is very tough..chances are very low to get lift. 2. Americans don’t trust people easily. Some times it’s good sometimes it’s bad. 3. Its no more land of opportunity. There is 15-20 years of green card waiting period for indian passport holders. Only limited numbers of H1B visa, I don’t see it land of opportunity anymore

Bro if you happen to get to Indiana you will find many Punjabi truck drivers. They might be able to help you further. US isn't like India,the crime rate is too high here and trucker's worry about their safety. Moreover Americans always look for a way to make money and if there happens to be an injury to you,as an American you would sue the truck company and try to make money out of it. (That's how people think) Therefore the trucker loosing his job. It's very rarely you'll find someone going out of their way to help you. The Midwest is very nice and helpful. Good luck.

In USA the people who smuggle drugs, they hitchhike and if they get caught inside a truck, that truck driver is also going to get charged by police for smuggling drugs cus hitchhiking is prohibited by LAW in USA. 2nd factor for not getting ride is insurance, if something like accidents happens on the road & a hitchhiker is riding along in that truck, insurance is not going to pay for damages, 3rd reason for not getting ride is immigration papers, mostly illegal persons

This is not a wise move. Hitchhiking in the US is very dangerous for many reasons.That is why truck drivers are often told not to offer lifts to strangers. Keep in mind that guns are freely available in the US and people are allowed to carry firearms. The higways are long and at times deserted. Anything can go wrong.So it is not because Americans are rude as such, this is a safety issue for them. There are other ways to travel around the country safely. Even if Varun is successful with his efforts please don't get inspired by this and try it yourself. It is too risky.
