It was such a hard hitting moment to see that he actually loved Jinx all along. I was waiting for the stereotypical “I never loved you, it was all a trick to get you to do what I wanted!” Moment. But in the end, Silco was never manipulating her, every word of encouragement and support was actually genuine. He loved Jinx like a daughter. More than himself, and even his plans for Zaun. He was still an evil man, but would never give up his daughter for his ambitions. He loved her above all else. Such a well written villain.

@@wilburtmoreno469 Yeah, You can see that before he was probably just aspiring to protect the people of the lanes etc. but after the rebellion he realised that his moral compass was preventing him from achieving his goals, His only objective was to protect his own and he willing to do anything to achieve that, too him it was the greater good. He still valued and cared about people but overall logic is what gets things done and he knew that better than anyone else on the show, truly brilliant character.

I think he knew that giving her to Piltover would only be a choice he'd regret. Jinx had become a part of his dream for Zaun and there would have been no point in taking the deal since it'd mean losing his favorite part of the dream.

He’s probably gonna be in flashbacks and maybe even hallucinations like another commenter said. Either way his ideals, his influence has a lasting impact. Silco is to vander what jinx is to vi. Two sides of the same coin. Vander lives in in vi and Silco now lives on in jinx. No matter what happens from here their deeds will reverberate through the shows conclusion.

The thing about Arcane I love most is how there‘s no actual villain. Sure, you hate Silco at first and all but in the end he‘s just a broken soul collecting outcasts like Jinx. And he learned to love her, as well. But he‘s not good and will never be good. And so is Vi, who left her sister, and Jace, who turned from someone inspiring to someone… I don‘t even know I just started hating him towards the end, and Viktor, and Caitlyn and all of them! They aren‘t good and they aren‘t bad. Arcane is amazing because it gives each character enough depth just so you can‘t hate them.

@@tr1ksh0t88 Silco was a betrayed revolutionary with his brother vander tried to help the nation of Zaun but vander betrayed him to make peace with piltover and since then he built his forces gathered his resources to take back his city and claim their place in the world and when Jinx was abandoned by Vi he saw himself in her and helped her become a survivor helped her learn how to fight and improve her weapons to the point her grenades impressed viktor and jayce and when she had mental breakdowns or issues he never blamed her and always gave her what she needed

Silco is a good father with bad methods. Many of the things he did for the sake of his 'daughter' are generally good things we want to see from Parents. The unfortunate part is that those things he did were twisted by his own warped ideals and view on the world due to his own trauma. He supported her when everyone else doubted her. When she made mistakes, he'd call her out on them and ask her to do better and to take time to clear her head. When she blows up the enforcers and steals the hex crystal, he's furious because of what she did until he saw it wasn't just a random act of violence. It had a purpose towards whats essentially both of their life goals. This falls in line with his own ideals and views that for them to have Zaun, they had to break a few eggs. That is why he didn't reprimand her further, now seeing that what she did was for the sake of their future Zaun. When she was hurt, he came out to arguably one of the most exposed places between the two cities personally to find her and bring her back to the only person he knew/trusted to save her life. Time and time again he reminds her that she is 'perfect' and to us, yes its clear she is obviously very damaged and warped by her experiences but so is Silco. They share a similar damaged view of the world which is why to him he saw no issues with the new Powder (aka Jinx) because its the same way he became who he is now. He wants her to be strong and to own her strength by overcoming her trauma and the abandonment of her family like he did; its just done in unhealthy ways and towards unhealthy viewpoints. Then when the offer of a literal lifetime is presented to him, after who knows how many years of struggling, his ultimate goal that he killed his own brother for is now realized. And he can't let go of his only 'daughter' for the sake of this. He is willing to compromise almost all of his ideals aside from Loyalty for the sake of Jinx, even lying to Jayce and saying that the actions she did; blowing up the enforcers and stealing the crystal were his plans when in truth they were done by her of her own volition. Silco is far from a good guy but he loved Jinx unconditionally like any parent should and did what he thought was best for her.

And to think he’s not actually her real farther just someone who found her. he was willing to do all that for someone who didn’t even have any connections to him. He saw something in her no one else did. He didn’t raise her to be a tool in his arsenal he raised her to be who she wanted to be. A completely selfless and even progress halting act. if he left powder to die he probably would have got is nation. But I think in the end given the choice he would of hade it no other way. That’s why silco is best

Silco literally threatens jayce to support zaun onto becoming a nation by keeping everyone hostage which Jayce is smart enough to realize luckily. It will make the lives of the people who live on zaun slightly better but will it be good for everyone is the question as Top Side is literally filled with corrupt political leaders.

He did so many things to show the world that he is a leader and everyone he known just betrayed him except Jinx who always loved him as a father. He is no hero. But he does have a noble goal; albeit using very evil methods to get to it. He his a revolutionary. He is devoted to his cause to a fault, if he has to kill to get the Undercity free, he'll kill. If he need to develop drugs and test it on innocent bystanders, he'll do it. If he needs child labor to work his factory, he'll get them, and will probably indoctrinate them. He'll use assassins, he'll use terrorism, he'll use everything he needs to achieve this goal. It's all in the name of the cause, to bite back at Piltover, and set Zaun free. So that no one will ever have to live that again afterward. To him, just trying to build a peacefull oasis in the Undercity and not pull everything you can into the fight, like Vander did, is being complacent. It's legitimizing Piltover's rule by not reacting to it. The name of his episode; Ep3, tells you all you need to know about Silco : "The base violence necessary for change". The necessary violence you have to inflict, even unto yourself - or your people -, and your adversaries, to force significative change. Silco is a revolutionary which fits the moto "the end justify the means". He isn't a "broken hero"; or a "hero", he isn't a "villain", he is just a man, with his own agenda. A noble cause, a cruel person, and thus I think the role the show gives him feat the character : He is a monster.

I love that Silco looks like total "bad guy". Dark, demonic looking man, with evil eye. He is responsible for enslaving people with drugs, responsible for half of crimes in the city. Yet in the end, all of this was for noble cause. Being in desperate position that there was probably no solution, without progress and proper guidance. This show truly show us to not look on people in one dimensional way. As in the end, they are products of enviornment they lived in and their choices are based on their perception...

I like how Silco turns his chair away from Jinx to hide the pain or the mistake that she made, when he gets shot. When he can't hide it anymore, all he could ask her to do is not to cry. What a dad like approach. Makes me cry every time. He knew that he was dead, the moment Jayce asked him to make that trade. He wouldn't give Jinx away, and he would look "Weak" to anyone, just like Vander, because he has "family" to protect, and someone else would try to overthrow him, just like he did Vander. Before that could happen, I think he was kind of content with the fact that he died by Jinx and not by anybody else.

A lot of people say Silco manipulated Jinx but I disagree. He never misled her, never told her a lie to trick her. He was honest with his emotions and his intentions. You never see him lie to anyone in any scene. He is very direct with all conversations. He even tells Jinx to take time off and accepts input of others to let Jinx come back to him when she's ready. Silco knows of the voices Jinx can hear of her dead family, the images that she see's, and tries to help her the only ways he knows how. Meanwhile Vi can never admit fault, never can admit she is the one causing problems. It's always someone else's fault. Between starting the mess by raiding Jayce's house, to starting a fight in the ally when everyone wanted to just leave, to trying to turn herself in and getting Vander caught, to leading her friends blinding into what was so obviously a trap. Then when everyone dies, instead of putting any blame on herself that she put people in this position to begin with - she looks to her sister and blames Power for all of it. Even when Vi and Jayce raid Silco's factory and gets a child killed, she tells Jayce he's part of this. Vi can't admit she is the one that gave Jayce this idea and pulled him into this. She can't admit that she might have been wrong in this. On top of it all, Vi is a terrible leader. Her team had strengths and she always ignored them. Milo was skillful at lockpicking, at sneaking, a fantastic rogue. When it's his time to shine - Vi breaks the door down and ignores Milo's strengths. Claggett had great strength, but Vi always choose to overshadow him with her own strength. Wanting to be the /strong/ one. Powder is clearly a genius with building, planning, and fantastic shot. Vi ignores this and expects her sister to grow up /strong/ like her, ignoring Powders true strengths. In the end, Vi can only love Powder. That sweet little sister she remembers. If Vi was to love Jinx, that would mean admitting she is at fault for what Powder became. It would be admitting that Vi is part of the reason their family died, it wasn't all Jinx's fault. It would be putting part of the blame on her own shoulders. And Vi just can't accept any responsibility. Until Vi can learn to accept others input, accept responsibility, and admit fault, the rift between her and Jinx will never be healed.

I absolutely agree. I still like Vi but I have to say some of what happened was her fault too. I still blame Jinx for Vander's death, because Vi told her to not go but she didn't listen. Milo could've gotten Vander out and there would've been a fight anyways, but Vander could've won.

She admits that situation with Powder is her fault. You can literally hear it in the show while she is talking to Caitlyn. "I suppouse topside is to blame for all your misfortunes?" she sees Powder as her imaginations and tells "No. Not all of them.". She knows her relation with Powder was her fault, but can you blame Vi for reacting this way few seconds after seeing her two brothers and dad dies? She wanted to come back, start again, maybe talk and say sorry. But she didn't had the chance. We all know that Jinx is still in this weird place between being an adult and still thinking like a child. Vi was taken to prison when she was 15? 16? She was there a long time. How can you be a good adult when you didn't have somebody aroud. Jinx had Silco. She had some family. Yeah, Vi is blaming others, but she thinks she know how the world works. But her world for like 5-10 years was only prison with some bad guys that only hurt and only can be hurt. It can fck you up. About being a bad leader - yes, she was. She wanted to topside be afraid of her... Just like Silco. They both wanted power and both of them didn't look at Jinx as they should. Both of them never was mad at her for "jinxing" a job. Vi was always on her side, but then she lost so much in so little period of time and said and did something she shouldn't. Silco was never mad at her, but one time she did something without him knowing he yelled and was pissed, becasue didn't believe enough in her. Then she gave him the hextech stone and he realized. But the situations were different, the age of characeters were different. Vi and Silco are a little bit the same in actions towards Jinx. Both of them were mad when Jinx did something rlly bad, both of them loved her and bot of them wanted Jinx to be safe in the end. Vi loves Powder, loves JInx... But she can't accept her. How can you accept someone who kills for fun? Becasue this is what Jinx does, most of the time it could go without victims, but she didn't want that. She wants to kill. She is mad, but we all know why. Vi know how the battle looks like, her mother and dad died on the bridge. Jayce didn't, this is why she was prepared for something like this and he wasn't, but she tries to be thought becasue that was her life for so many years. I don't tell you that she is good in every way, but we can see why she is this way. In prison she only knew "be hurted or hurt".

I interpret the child dying, and Vi not being entirely phased by it differently. Rather than being like Jayce who sees one child die and is ready to quit his mission of stopping Silco, Vi knows what has been happening and continues to happen in the undercity all the time. Countless children die or are exploited by Silco, that kid wouldn't have died if a crime lord wasn't having them work in their factories. Not saying the responsibility isn't partially on Vi, but she even says it herself. Along the lines of "You really think that's the only dead kid." Yeah she doesn't have the perfect way to stop the violence, but sitting by and just letting it go on is clearly something she can no longer tolerate. When you have the power to stop something and don't do it, what's the point of having that power. Vi doesn't admit she was wrong in raiding Silco's factory, cause frankly, she wasn't. No one has done anything of value to stop this horrible crime lord from ruining lives in the undercity. It's brutal and raw to have a child get caught in the crossfire, but what's even more wrong is putting children in positions where they CAN be caught in the cross fire, as Silco does.

I don't think you need to discredit Vi to praise Silco. It's not an either or, after all. They both have strengths and weaknesses. But I do agree that Silco never intentionally lied to Jinx: he had believed that Vi was dead, so he never lied about this. He probably supported Jinx in the best way that he was capable of doing. It was a toxic relationship at times, since he kinda fed the natural chaos that she already had insider of her. But he tried to help - the only problem is that he couldn't offer the mental help that she really needed to be healthy and sane.

Silco feels like an anti-villain. He is the antagonist of the series to be sure, but look at him, he has honor, he desires to make Zaun a better place with atonomey, a good father to his adopted daughter(just a bad influence). He just was so involved in the ends justified the means that he didn't leave himself enough time to clean the mess he created. Shimmer was a temporary measure, he did say he was going to clear out the chem Barrons (the blockade was technically his idea, playing the long con he froze the assets for trade so it would be easier to dismantle). He valued loyalty and rewarded those who worked for him. He even had honor, and respect Vander and his goals(though he did not agree with them near the end). It's also clear that while he had the weapon after the parley he wasn't going to use it, he was as ready for peace as Jayce was. All of these actions while horrible he had a clear goal, to make the under city a better place, he was a better politician than Vander was, and while his actions were scummy he did it all for the Undercity. It's just a shame he never got to atone or redeem himself like he probably would have. There is a good man there, just did a lot of horrible stuff to get there.

For a villain that got very little screen time, they DEFINED him as a great character. Great motivation, sympathetic and showed his morals and reasons, all in limited amount of time. Absolutely loved Silco, and the fact that he truly cared for Jinx rather than just using her was brilliantly executed and honestly hit hard.

They say power corrupts, but in a lot of ways I think power is just very difficult to control and direct into something positive and not just destructive. Jinx wanted to help and made things worse, same with Jayce and his Hextech. Silco was trying to achieve something good, but his methods and the consequences were rough on a lot of people. Vander used his power to minimise the chances of open conflict, but the result was just ongoing suffering and resentment. I think the show is depicting a lot of where good people can still be their own and others worst enemies because they are part of systems that set them up for failure. Sure there is corruption, inequality, ignorance, apathy and brutality, but they were still so close to peace. Great show!

I'm genuinely upset that Silco is dead. I mean he's obviously a bad person, but he was just so well written and had just the right redeeming qualities that I'd gladly watch another season or two with him as the antagonist.

Reminds me so much of Wilson Fisk, someone willing to get his hands dirty to form the future for his home he has always dreamed of. Such a good villain, really shows the complexity of the human condition. He wasn’t a black and white bad guy, he was a morally gray man with his own quirks and flaws that made him feel so fleshed out and real.

I rage, seeing people call him a Villain. He is not a Villain. There is not good or evil. Morality is a completely subjective thing that the victor often has the luxury of choosing. He was a freedom fighter. Doing absolutely everything in his power to free his oppressed people. There is no level of violence, or butchery, or even madness that is not worth doing if it is to free your people. We have seen it countless times before even in our world. People will do anything to be free. It does not matter how they attain it. Only that they do everything that they can to achieve it. I salute you, it failed. It backfired spectacularly. But it was WORTH it. You gave it a go. You tried everything to free your people. Honor to the fallen, you did your best. May the moon be with you. Silco.

Some of my thoughts and analysis: After Jinx shoots Silco, she's shown clearly in that triggered mindless instinctual state like in episode 4 on the ship. Then after a couple breaths you see the exact moment her brain kicks in to full awareness again and... instant regret. Jinx didn't chose to kill Silco, but in a triggered state she instinctually shot at the threat of the sound of the pin drop in Silco's gun. That's entirely the reason she then chooses the Jinx chair, yet again, she was a Jinx to her family. There is no Powder, Jinx situation there, nor is it a conscious decision. It's just tragedy. Once again, Powder unwittingly killed her family. But this time she killed someone who loved her perfectly. This is probably Jinx's breaking point. This comment, which many people misunderstood and shared as a comment under each video since this series came out: "Powder killed Silco, so Jinx killed Powder" is actually a wrong analysis. Jinx is Powder's evolution that grows over time. Powder and Jinx are not different people or split personalities, they are the same person. Silco's line: "don't cry you're perfect" = not Jinx, not Powder, you're perfect. ✔ I Like the post I saw in someone's comment earlier: Here is that comment: Jinx breaks my heart, more than usual, in her final scenes. There's such a sense of resignation and sadness to her; it's in her eyes, her expression, and her body language. I imagine that she's thinking that Mylo was right, all those years ago: She's a jinx. And if she's a jinx, she's going to be the worst bad luck Piltover has ever experienced. No truce. No negotiations. No peace. Jinx will show them all. Let it all burn, and chaos reign. War is coming... 😭😭

All the way this guy has gone through... At first, he was betrayed. By the person who he called brother. If we go dip in the reason Vander did this, we can understand that his priority was his children. He ended up with war for the sake of his family, but Silco could never understand that. He grew in a violent, evil person who kept trying to achieve his goal and he reborned in a strong person who was ready for it. Then Silco finds Jinx and he actually did EVERYTHING to be a good father for his girl. At the end he had a whole thing he was fighting and killing for so, so close - Zaun's independence. But the price was his precious Jinx and at this moment he truly understands Vander and his reasons. He finally reaches the strongest feeling called love. Silco is one of the best antagonists I've ever known. Not only a good villain, but a good father.

Yeah Jayce definitely went from being admirable and sympathetic to becoming an egomaniac and obnoxious Mel kind of went from seeming smart but good/neutral to seeming more evil and sinister, manipulative, then at the very end she redeemed herself a bit. But still... "ambitious", a corrupting influence on Jayce. I had issues with Vi, especially her rage against Silco (for no real reason, Silco wanted to help Zaun, and he never forced anyone to use shimmer). Vi was childish and a violent brat for me, I see her as "antihero" and not "good" overall. Also she kept pummeling Sevika wtf was that? Sevika was a surprisingly evolving character who I have respect for by the end

This is amazing. Silco literally has some of the best lines in the show. (finale spoilers) The 3rd episode might've had me depressed, but Silco's final moments actually made me cry. I thought Silco was going to be a cliche type of villain, but the more I saw from Silco, the more I realized how well-fleshed-out he was and how respectable his intentions were. He went about it the wrong way of course, but at heart, he wanted what was best for the undercity and, most importantly, he wanted what was best for Jinx. He seemed more... human than I expected. But his final words-- I mean, he could've responded to Jinx with anger for ending his life, but instead, he chose to understand and forgive her. He even told Jinx what she had always wanted to hear: that she was good enough and didn't have to prove to him that she was strong because she's perfect just the way she is. But just as someone finally accepts her, they die. He grew to care for her and, just like Vander, chose his daughter over his biggest dream. Jinx was Silco's weakness, but she brought out the human in him and ensured that neither of them would be alone anymore. (Until, of course, Jinx, in her panic and fear, ended the life of her father-figure, which is another reason in itself to fcking cry. All of Jinx's adoptive family is dead and Jinx must be drowning in the pain of knowing that it's because of her.)

I even theorized when Riot announced the next Support with be a villain and even shows a symbol that can easily relate to Zaun so knew it had to be Silco. Of course, in the series he could be made into a villain and many people might not like him..because he is the opposite of the character they like.. .but for me he is a broken hearted person who tries. Help a broken hearted child as well...that no one cares about her...He just wants her to have a strong life and survive in Zaun. ...Healing her heart....He tried to teach her to make her try by herself...rely on herself rather than expecting others to make us sad like he and she had encountered.....also The experiences he had been through and successful, he probably thought that it would work for her as well as him… although it didn't work for her. But at least he cares and understands her the most.... Even though he died, he didn't blame Jinx at all, instead cheering her on because she knew how much her heart had to be broken....He didn't want her to be sad again....for anyone else, she might be a nemesis. Other people's freaks...but to him, she was a daughter, the most perfect thing his life had ever been...
