ペットボトルを上手に開けて、飲んでいるのを見てたら、柵の中に入れていていいのか？と。その後、沈黙ながら飼育員さんと語っているようなタロウさんを見て、何もかも理解してるんだろうなあと思いました。野生下では、こんなにいつも食料が足りている訳無く、安心して睡眠もとれないだろう動物たちを、こうして飼育するのがいいことか、悪いことか、いつも考えてしまいます。こんなおセンチな感傷に浸るのも、タロウさんの様子が、そう思わせるんだろうと思います。飼育員さん、すごいですね。タロウさんと理解しあっているように見えました。もっともっとタロウさんが、長生きするといいですね。

本来、類人猿は動物園にいるべきではないと思います。 ただ、帰るところのない彼らをできるだけ快適な人生を送ってもらいたいという願いでしょう。 昨年、動物園の飼育員を目指す学生にアンケートを取ったところ、ほとんどの学生が動物園は不要だったと考えてました。それでも生活している彼らのためになりたいというとこです。昔よりはるかに良識を持っているんだと感じました。

モンキーセンターに実際行ったことがないので、何とも言えない身ですが、タロウさんの飼育場はこのスペースだけなのでしょうか？　ご長寿さんなので、激しい動きは出来ないかもですが、工夫がいっぱいあって、退屈しのぎが出来る所があるといいなぁと、見た感じでは思ってしまいました(汗　「敬老の日 特集」でいろんな類人猿の動画を貼って下さり、ありがとうございます。

😂THAT WAS FUNNY. When Taro was finished eating on that twig/branch he tossed it behind him, usually when gorillas are finished eating something they just lease it letting it fall. 🤭😅 That was different 🤭🤔

Thinking the same. He has a presence, the IT factor. Just watching him unscrew the bottle cap (That believe it or not is high level thinking and dexterity), arrange his blanket nimbly not sloppily, and reach for the camera. I think if he had snagged it he would be able to take his own pictures and selfies. 😁😁😁😁 Elevator reaching all floors with this guy. I hope he isn't alone like poor Shou (sounds like show) who has a sad story but I can't find too many details. And is that small cage his only outdoor area? Since this is Japan, he's only 1 of 20 gorillas in the whole country! Anyone with info (besides his stud # on the GEIN list) on this handsome, stately gentleman?
