it is SSOOO frustrating to try to leave Mass reverently & get stopped by a chatterbox before getting to the door!

Uncertain. The mass is above all a celebration, a Thanksgiving. However from a certain point of view silence and even austerity should be observed, fine but one is left too often without joy and laughter....if we remember to serve the Lord with these? From many masses across the pond away from 'conservative' America, a more diverse cultural explosion has caused/is causing great exuberance at the mass. Our own Nigerian priest would have clapping and full laity participation where it often seemed the mass was like a gospel choir of praise the lord...needless to say the local hierarchy is in full support and church attendance is rocketing.... The use of hand puppets for rejoicing at places like Lourdes is so overwhelmingly glorious, one can almost feel the Holy Spirit dancing with the crowds. Beautiful and Holy. So this is a warning, probably a reaction against the po-faced precious declaration of sacredness being about solemnity over rejoicing... That old way is no longer always appropriate to modern worship and the desire for greater intimacy amongst the faithful.

The Mass above all else is a sacrifice.

@@Catholic_D.O.G we shall agree to disagree because our Lord's are different entities. Good luck with your beliefs.

@@raymondmartin318 The Church describes the Mass as the "source and summit of the Christian life",[4] and teaches that the Mass is a sacrifice, in which the sacramental bread and wine, through consecration by an ordained priest, become the sacrificial body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ as the sacrifice on Calvary made truly present once again on the altar. This link may help you better understand my belief of The Mass as a sacrifice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHy7pZ6ibpamjNksi=aPNQcNsPEM4Qtt8f

@@raymondmartin318 I rarely comment on anything in youtube so I am unsure how it works. I did to reply with two different comments that had links to other channels with people who could explain The Mass is a Sacrifice far better than any feeble attempt by me, however they both didn't seem to post, maybe links are not permitted. Here is something that may help without a link: The Church describes the Mass as the "source and summit of the Christian life", and teaches that the Mass is a sacrifice, in which the sacramental bread and wine, through consecration by an ordained priest, become the sacrificial body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ as the sacrifice on Calvary made truly present once again on the altar.
