Used and abused. Until you've done that with gear I don't feel I have the right to talk about it.
@careylymanjones3 жыл бұрын
Looks like it would be great on something like a CMMG Banshee, or any AR-9. The diameter wouldn't be an issue, and the short length would be a real plus for an AR.

For 300 Blackout, this boils down to expectations and usage. If you want Hollywood quiet, this isn't it. If you want light and compact for a home defense at the expense of suppression, it is a great option. Yes it will be loud, but it's still wildly better than no suppressor in an enclosed space. If you mag dump through a suppressor, and complain about the finish degrading, well... That's on you. This is a tool, it will wear with use.

all valid points and perhaps that's what I didn't convey the best in this review. I personally see the omega 9k that is best used on a 9mm subgun. although it can be used for other things there is a reason there are other cans out there. same reason you have different types and sizes of hammers.
@AbqDunn8 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for the video. Maybe I missed the point but what was the reason for not being good 300 blackout? I have AR-15 300 blackout and an AR-9 w/ wide open. Size looks great for this but is the biggest downfall that it’s not as quiet as it could be compared to others on the market? It’s definitely better than not having one but can find others more quiet? Thanks!

So you pretty much hit it on the head. For me when it comes to 300blk it's a "better than nothing can" its not going to be super quiet which if you're paying for 300blk subs that's kind what you want. If you're just sending supers sure go for it but my point was that if you were getting it to use with 300blk subs you should go for a dedicated can. The omega 9k shines on 9mm pistols and subguns but if you are trying to use it outside of that niche it's going to be disappointing, especially if you are treating this like a multi cal can purchase.

Super quiet with 9mm browning with crimson trace and Ruger PC9. Good to know it sucks with blackout. So why so many rounds with blackout? Why not show shooting and accuracy with 9mm?
@fluffywarhampster2 ай бұрын
@rap36case I originally bought the can as a somewhat "do all" when I was getting into suppressors and it had to fill in for the couple years prior to me getting a dedicated 30cal can. As for shooting footage I just never got around to filming any but It doesn't seem to make a difference in terms of accuracy at least on pistols.

@@fluffywarhampster I have shoot 6.5 cm for years with omega 300. I shoot at an nrl 20 stage range and out to 1 mile. Most people get sub moa precision with custom bolt guns and no hearing problems. I now have a Ruger 19122 PC9 carbine accurate to 400 yards and through 4" of pine with the omega 9 can.

I shot my 300 blackout out of an 8" with sub sonic rounds and it was loud af. I only use it on my M&P, Glock, and M9A3. I have not had any issues with sights but my guns have suppressor heights on them.

Yeah I will pretty much always say get two cans the omega is a great 9mm can but for 300blk you are better off nightingale the bullet and getting a dedicated 30cal can. That being said the omega can be a good stop gap while you are waiting for stamps to clear.

What would you recommend for a 300 blackout can in a similar size and weight?
@fluffywarhampster3 жыл бұрын
i wouldn't recommend a 300 blk can in this size range. 300 blk subs are for being really quiet so you want all the advantages of a full size 30 cal can. if you are planning to use supers just go for any 30 cal k can out there. personally i like the energetic armarment vox k but if i had to choose between the two i would get the fullsize version for the versitility.

Concerns about it filling up with crud? How do you clean it?
@fluffywarhampster3 жыл бұрын
center fire suppressors are designed not to be cleaned as most of them have porting on the baffles to allow gasses to evacuate any carbon build up. if you are really worried about it you could always soak the can in some kind of solvent than throw it on the end of a 300blk with some supers and dump a couple mags thorugh. that will blow any excess out.

Nice in-depth review! I’m just starting to look into my first suppressor, mainly for my MKE MP5K but MIGHT put it on my G19 with RDS from time to time just for fun but it’ll live on the MP5. Right now I’m really leaning towards the DeadAir Wolfman. Have you had a chance to use it or look into it at all? Just curious on your take.
@JayyBird932 жыл бұрын
Also what are your thoughts on it being used on 556? I don’t have an AR yet but I know I’ll get one eventually.
@fluffywarhampster2 жыл бұрын
I wpuld dodge anything dead air. I have a sandman k that i am still working in a review for and the sneak peak is that they’re QC is garbage. For something like an mp5 the omega is a good can in my option. It makes a lot of sense for a pcc and can work in a pinch on a handgun but it is a pcc can more than anything else. Also 556 on the omega 9k is going to be a no go

Great honest review, and insightful. Followups are always crucial as the proof is always in living with something. I just purchased one mainly for PCC/ODW. With 300 BLK being priced the way it is these days and probably for a while, it's not a big interest for me. Neither is regular pistol use. Have an AAC 556-SD already for 5.56 and there's no way I'd want to shoot 5.56 through anything like this. So I have a lot of PCC/PDW's and also SBR'ing a lower, so something like this will be just right for keeping things nice and compact. Also, my main PCC/PDW's are built around the CMMG radial-delayed blowback system, so that extra little bit of lockup helps keep more of the gas going forward compared to most straight blowback PCC's. The only 300blk that I'd be interested in is maybe a 16" upper for use with supersonics and hunting hogs, and for that with that much barrel and not so much emphasis on being super-quiet, it could do okay and would be nice not having so much extra suppressor weight/length. But I wouldn't be doing that very often anyway so might not even bother.

With subs and the 7inch barrel of my honey badger it was hearing safe so you could give an AR pistol a try
@Fugettaboutit2 жыл бұрын
@@fluffywarhampster I actually just built a 300 upper with an 8" barrel (for use with my SBR'd lower), so I'll give it a spin.
