the end maze was kinda forced to look lame cuz any structures would just act as visual cues, and even if there was the same structure on every block, brightening the screen would make it easier to count how much youve jumped/fallen. looks bad but they couldntve really done anything else without a visual nerf

I think the final maze is meant to be unrelenting in its design and gameplay, the repeating columns of fading blocks makes the part feel endless. This part was also hugely impactful for its time, because you cant memorise it using trial and error. So the final part was mathematically impossible because nobody would be able to figure out what pattern of jumps was needed to get past it. I love your thoughtful commentary style because you critique levels based on creative choices, rather than arbitrary decoration and gameplay standards.

4:27. this part gave me a really cool idea. yknow how if you use multiple mirror portals in a row it squished the blocks in the level together, what if you used this to your advantage by (for example) creating a face out of the blocks used, which would not visible when not using a mirror portal as the blocks would be stretched out. think this could be cool for little easter eggs/additional designs in levels 🤷🏻‍♂️😯

I don't agree with this idea because it is literally basic mirror portal spam, and everybody hates it. Imagine if there was gameplay during those types of sections. It also affects things visually, which makes it all weird and strange.

Something that's actually really interesting about Silent Clubstep is how unlike the rest of Sailent's levels it is. Like, many gameplay gimmicks Sailent consistently uses in Deadly Clubstep v2, the Big Black and even Silent Clubstep II and Sailent Clubstar aren't present in Silent Clubstep itself. Like there are still some commonalities, like orb spam, but Silent Clubstep is probably Sailent's most unique level compared to their others.
