Just a hint - when testing occlusion find a place where there's a lot of things actually occluding each other :) They need to be static too. You won't see much difference in an empty forest with moving foliage. Pick a place with lots of rooms, stuff in them and walls separating (occluding) them.

Just use optiscaler, you can control various upscaling option as well as enabling FG with friendly user UI, relying on game devs to properly implement FSR nowadays is too much i guess. Speaking for the patch itself, they fixed alot of stuff including the weird white door textures when you move your camera indoors, as for the stutter though, yeah there's just no avoiding the dreaded UE5 stutters, it's just the nature of the game engine itself sadly.

AMD frame generation works really well for me, but there's one or two very specific locations where it absolutely tanks the framerate to single digits if you stand in a certain spot. Moving backwards and forwards out of the spot makes the problem go away. It's very strange. The lakeside hotel corridor where the shattered mirror room is has one such spot.

You should test in the appartements area, the performance there is a lot worse, the game loses framerate as you progress to the point where it’s impossible to play with sub 30fps, also the gpu power utilization drop significantly from 150w to 80w (not psu issue as I tested it with other games and gpu stress testing power remain constant 150w), also reloading the save file fix the issue for like 2mins and the same story start repeating it self.

Honestly this, I have a pretty respectable PC setup and the performance in later areas of the game is just intolerable. I died a lot of times to the nurses in the Hospital because my PC would arbitrarily drop the game to 0.5FPS for solid two minute stretches. And none of the reviewers mentioned it either... It ruined the moment for me more than once, because it even carries over to cutscenes. You know it's bad when the game can't even run locked at 30 FPS...

@@WolfLink423 I finally found a fix for this game, I found a video about the game running using dxvk mod, which makes the game run using Vulkan api, it runs miles better also the gpu seems to work normally and the stutter are almost unnoticeable, you gotta give it a try

The DLSS frame gen was good, i used to run SH2 maxed out every setting but without raytracing in 1440p on Strix 4080 Super OC. I tried DLSS Quality mode with framegen and raytracing, getting close to 200fps, stutters are also a lot less noticeable in this patch with my setup.

The stutter are the scenary loading in from disc, we cant see because of the fog, i dont think this will improve until they change the way it loads, it just pops full rendered in place, try some top notch SSDs This game was also ported from EU4 to EU5, Its not ideal so optimazation was not ideal for it, but it should get better in the future if devs imporve it as well

My game has felt worse since this patch, areas like the 2nd floor apartments are unloaded for like 15 seconds when i first go there, also areas, 3rd Floor Brookhaven hospital, and exiting the apartments, and more I've also noticed a significant decrease in my fps by about 20 to 40fps, I'm not sure why its worse, when this patch is supposed to fix these issues.

If Ray Tracing is turned ON, then yes. It will have a huge FPS drop and stutter if FG is turned on for FSR 3.1. Tested multiple times and horrible stutters before cut scenes always happen when both Ray Tracing and FG are turned on.

It's very common for this game to drop to ZERO frames per second, thanks to those traversal hickups. Of course this depends on your hardware and settings. My old GTX 1060 6GB can do 1080p at 40-50fps average at the starting areas on low settings, no upscalers. TSR takes it to 50-60. Modded FSR3.1 frame generation ups the average to 70-80 indoors if I uncap the framerate limit, and contrary to this video's claims, helped my stutters.

I wonder, I was looking for a way to speed run the game for the trophy, as i truly hate new game's Trophy/Achievements to speed run the game no matter what. I searched online and i read if you leave the save file to reach 24 hours and then finish the game you'll get the trophy. Now my question is.. is this patch fixed this glitch?

@@leedunkin3338This is an unreal engine 5 game. This is not using unreal engine 4. Rendering techniques used like nanite and lumen are not available in unreal engine 4. Traversal stutter is a very common problem in games with large maps in unreal engine 5. But the problem has existed for generations at this point. I believe Arkham city used unreal engine 3 and still has unavoidable traversal stutters to this day. I don’t necessarily believe it’s an inherent problem with engine, I think it’s a problem with devs just not knowing how to properly handle loading/unloading assets in the engine. With how frequent the problem is in unreal engine, however, it does seem to me like there’s something making the problem far more complicated to solve in this engine as opposed to others.

Alex clearly demonstrates that the stutters absolutely happen on PS5 in the same places. It’s just harder to dig into the technical side because of how limiting consoles are in collecting data.

Even as a layman I was shocked by how low the frame rate got in JackSeptic's playthrough. Some of the fights were unwatchable. I can't imagine how embarrassed he was, but then, it obviously wasn't his fault. SH2 RM is amazing but the tech issues it has is an interesting fumble.

In this game you have to think about stability not fps, and the biggest problem is the vram usage, since everything on low at 1080p uses 7GB, so try everything on low at 720p at 30fps

This is a fkn joke, the game was running for me very decently with only some of stuttering but after the patch the game is completely broken for me, I reinstalled but that not work either, now I have stuttering every 2 seconds when I look with camera and my gpu heat increased too, im very angry why always a patch turns the game into a complete mess when it supposed to do the opposite

One of the heaviest part of the game is the apartmants. I easily got 60fps with this game but the apartmants 40-50fps and stuttery as hell.
