James is more heavy on his grief, guilt and greed in this remake. Heavy sigh, eyebrows, tired and desperate... I love everything in this remade James. OG James is like OG Leon in RE4, spouting nut wacky lines with a clear determination ahead. Still love him! That all goes to the remade Maria/Mary, I really love the heavier tone and impression of wanting more than care or attention. Her every move is very tempting on James to let his Mary go and accept this new Maria. That and I hate the companion system in the original game, a LOT.

I'm glad people were wrong about this game. Bloober Team did an excellent job, I always had faith in them even though I'm a relatively new player, but I never doubt a project until I see the final result. Bloober outdid themselves

❤ as a day one SH Player back in the day, it's SO awesome to talk to people that didn't knew the old fGames now, and they finally know what i was talking about, how this game feels etc. It's such a special game and i love that more people can get addicted wirh this Franchise xD

Im really grateful when the games comes out, after 2 decade of waiting, and boom it came out. One of the most cult classic game ive ever been played from my childhood. I wish the original SH and SH3 got their remake too. Especially for the SH, the game itself was insane back then on '99.

Gamers were not wrong, it just shows their voices were heard. The Konami and Bloober deleting and removing all mentions of "modern audiences" and themes in promotional tweets and articles is proof of that. Bloober did a good job, though they did a rehaul on the symbolisms that detract from the original game, but added other symbolisms that don’t detract from the core story and psychological themes. Example Marias clothing, the scene where it shows her original outfit and the dialog with it adheres to the original theme without having her wear it the entire time. Which is a decent compromise.

If james isn't used to fighting why did they make it so easy? This is literally the only game ive ever completed without dying, and it was on my first run and without even trying for a no death run. If they wanted to get across that he wasn't a fighter they should have made the enemies more dangerous.

The game is very good, questionable warps and cheap hits in the melee combat sometimes. I'm not a fan of the character designs.. not just the female models but the male models too. Japanese developers just know how to make cool looking normal people if that makes sense, the remakes models just seem bland and uninteresting.. If you look at all the Silent hill games you can see a level of consistency in the character art and I think that is something that this remake failed to grasp.
