Loved the og, love the remake, and played it almost nonstop on release so I can watch my favorite streamers play it without worrying about spoilers. I usually play on performance mode, but I played this on quality mode, and my eyes adjusted pretty quickly to the fps. Hope all is well with everyone :)

I think those points in the map where you focus on an area are call backs to the original port of the game. Like the first monster encounter in the tunnel

The second one at the apartments was where you sent the juice down the trash chute in the og. They are everywhere throughout the game, but they are (to my knowledge) just little "hey remember this" moments that play a little sound and focus the camera on them. And I'm enjoy.

@@vash12349From what I can tell, they haven’t taken anything out of this remake-just sorta moved where/how it happens. So when you find the areas where said things USED to happen, you can interact with them and get a little fixed camera angle and chime combo. The first one was where you USED to get your weapon. The second is where you USED to do the canned juice puzzle 🙂

The original Silent Hill was my first, I had no business playing it on my own being so young at the time. I still find it quite scary but the whole series is just timeless and I come back to it over and over again. Great Halloween choice, Vash!

Silent Hill and Resident Evil just nail horror and suspense like no other. Horror is pretty low on my totem pole of genres for games and even film but there is something about these franchises that are truly special and genuinely not many other games in the genre really do it for me, with cheap scares and just overall dumb or limited stories/creative narratives. I think this remake is absolutely fantastic and I'm looking forward to watching you play it, Vash.

20:16 Original Silent Hill on Playstation back in 1999. Got hooked ever since. 51:03 In the original version, you come from Sanders via Wiltse and go up Lindsey to Vachss Rd, which is where you have your first enemy encounter and find the radio. PC player here. I play it on a reduced resolution (1920x1080, 75% rendering blahblah, because 4K plays like ass on my system). I can have textures and a number of other settings on high, othera on medium at least. I had to muck around with settings to get a good framerate and good quality at the same time.

I still remember remember the first time I played SH2. my uncle had gifted me the game when I was in 8th grade. Back then I didn't really like it as I found my puzzles confusing and couldn't really grasp the complex story. It wasn't until I replayed it many years later did I understand the full context of the compelling story. I've been avoiding all sneak peak so I could watch vash play it without spoilers!

So I read about phonograph in communication text book a long time ago (more than 20 years ago). It's one of the oldest analogue system. As the disc spins, the needle vibrates by reading the micro engraved lines. These vibrations converted tthrough a complicated system to audio. As for your question, would it work after glueing it? The answer is yes except the glued part. If it was glued perfectly, you might just hear a little noise as the needle passing through. This reminds me of how we use to tape cassette tapes.
