@@benedictcumberbatch4275 that’s how it was in the original game actually. I think the game(both original and this one) wanted a much more raw experience with your first encounter with him. The game did not want to have to introduce him through a cutscene and instead wanted you the player to have a reaction to hims once he’s unlike everything else you’ve seen and he seems to be very intimidating while standing there as you control James without even trying to harm you like everything else. Which is maybe supposed to be further enhanced by the fact that when you leave and come back he disappears immediately

You know what I find interesting about 7:43, just like Brad said, there are other areas in the game that just freeze and play music. And I noticed these areas in the original game, are actually areas where puzzles or important events actually happened but instead of happening in the same place as the original, the event happens in a different location in this remake. Imagine how cool it would be to find out this game is a sequel to silent hill 2 with James going through an endless cycle of the same events from the game but due to him already interacting with some things before, it’s different the second time round, or the simple uncertainty of the town causes events to happen differently each cycle.

The best out side door mate is the old school one's made from recycled tire rubber they literally last a lifetime, I bought one off Amazon few years because my dogs and man I bought another for other door ,just wash them with hose don't even need to dry them ,they're rubber ,but don't be fooled they look really bad ass and are mad great

As a huge fan of the original PS2 version, Its a bit disappointing to see some important details removed from the remake. For example, when James comes across that body in the chair in front of the TV, its supposed to look like him. A lot of the dead bodies are supposed to look like James and in this version they just cover the body in sheets. There are some great videos and theories why so many bodies look like James, some say the bodies represent James thoughts of suicide and his death. Another gripe is that seeing Pyramid Head there was kinda lame. On the PS2, the red light covers almost his whole body or he is simply just red and is farther away in the hall, which makes him more scary IMO. In this remake you can get so close to him and shine your light revealing all. I will say however I do like that they changed James first fight with the creature in the tunnel to inside a house. Makes more sense to me.

The steel head of that creepy guy (he is called Pyramid head I think) is symbolic I think for an impenetrable mask, that James tries to shoot. And Pyramid head cannot see through the mask. Well done idea to symbolize what a mask is. Somewhere in the beginning the mask is mentioned (James mask?). So I figured this creepy guy stands symbolic for that. The game plays so much better than the original.
