Akira is great, I never thought I'd buy a soundtrack to a game until I discovered silent hill. This part always gets me Pioneers in gaming and music. I'll miss the franchise but it's done, they canceled a new game that looked like a sequel to " The Room" Sad

That entire dialogue James hears in his head in that one long hall. After she yells at him to leave her because she's so disgusted with herself and angry, only to change her mind and beg him to stay. "James... Wait.... Please don't go! Stay with me! Don't leave me alone! I didn't mean what I said... Please James! Tell me I'll be okay... Tell me I'm not going to die. Help me..." Painful.

This is by far one of the saddest songs in the entire silent hill franchise if not the most sad, I love it for the way it sounds, sad, like the end is aproaching, like everything one person did was for nothing, it crushes my soul and at the same time I love it so much for that.

I love how Silent Hill 2 teaches you that you aren't the hero of this story. In Silent Hill, the only people who can be saved are those who can save themselves. It makes sense, after all. You can help someone with their trauma, their guilt, but only they can fully overcome it. Unfortunately, not everyone possesses that strength.

We talk about Angela more because of that and - I'd argue - because Laura and Maria are more symbols than people. Angela is a full character that we can somehow understand, despite the fact that she is so completely damaged.

It's not a coincidence last encounter with Angela happens after James discovered the truth. He could not you love her, take care of her and heal all her pain. James knows what happened with the last person he loved. That's why he stares away from Angela and says nothing. Guilt tarnishes him from the inside like hell.

Also the time when she called james a liar about mary, felt ordered, thought he was pretending to be nice to manipulate her, and brutally beating the shit out of abstract daddy after james killed it in the room filled with pistons. Also the part where she scorns james for not being able to give her what she needed before walking up those stairs.

No-one's perfect or 100% innocent; the fact she's in Silent Hill proves that. James himself even comes across as a fairly decent guy but you only see his flaws when push comes to shove. Everybody has their demons.

In SH2 the characters saw what they saw. The interesting part is that Laura saw nothing wrong with the town. She was innocent, albeit a littlle cruel. James was quite evil as a person but he really did want to help others, and that's no lie.

I must say I never quite understood Angela or her back story. I mean I figured that she was hurt inside, but I couldn't put the puzzle together. The fire for example, what does it mean to her? Why is it always like that for her? & who is "he", the one who hit her & made her do "things"? Might be her father I think. Seeing her walk up the stairs to this awesome tune made me quite sad, I knew something was wrong with Angela, but I never understood what exactly was wrong. To this day I still don't. :( This song is still great though, good job on extending it.

Quinn Stride I see, it truly is a sad tale. I figured her father did something bad to her, but I did not know about her brother. A college of mine at work told me to note one of the tablets found in the prison shower, the seductress. He said it represents Angela. That always threw me because I thought it meant she's a seducer. But what you have replied to me makes sense of it now, she was raped & the tablet was located in a shower where victims go after the crime. Very sad, poor girl. I'm not good at reading people so it was a bit tricky to work Angela out. Thank you for your help.

The thing about Angela, is there was a newspaper (I forget where) that stated that Angela's father sexually abused her for a while, and that her mother knew about it and told her it was her fault. It eventually got to the point of where her brother started doing the same, and she tried to run away. Her father caught her and beat her, and while he was sleeping she stabbed him to death with the knife James Sundeland takes from her. She also killed her brother with it too, and then ran away. Then the events of the game take place where she's still scared and confused. "I'm looking for my mamma... I-I mean, my mother..." (BTW Angela looks around 25-30 years old, that's cause the town made her look that way, in reality she's about 16-17 years old, same goes with Eddie) TL;DR, Angela had a _real shit life_ and I felt terrible for her throughout the entire game.

metrocop1000 That might be the blood covered blurred out newspaper before the Doorman or "Daddy" boss inside the maze. I found that hard to piece together because of the blurred out lines. I wish you could unblock them somehow. But yeah, Angela is a real tragic character, very shit life indeed. Not everybody has a happy one. Abuse destroys people inside and out. I guessed she was maybe 18 or 19, I did not think she was younger than that. She's just a kid in that case, makes her even more tragic.

ShaunTheCHB Yea, She was supposed to have a dysfunctional family life when she was younger. Her father was a lumberjack, and eventually got really addicted to drinking heavily. That's why he abused her. To be honest, I really wish there was a way that James could help her, considering the director states that even though the player watches her ascend the burning staircase without harm, she later dies (somehow, he said that he forgot how exactly).
