Ashley is the weakest part of Re4. She's just... there. I personally don't like SH4 too much, and Henry is the worst protagonist of the OG 4 (somehow, his voice acting is even worse than Harry. And you have to FUCK up like, big time, to do that) Having said that, I really like the game SO much more once you have Eileen. Hell she even doesn't complains as much as she should. She is totally wounded, confused, getting possed and she KICKS ass WHILE WEARING FUCKING HEELS!? I really like Eileen a lot! In my mind she's the real protagonist cuz Henry is just... there lmao

That was a cute little detail they added to Eileen to make her more genuine I love it XD Also I feel like it makes sense she would be more talkative than Henry considering she hadn't been exposed to the otherworld or surreal nature of her environment until that point unlike Henry where he had been stuck in the room for days on end. Not to mention that Henry probably had a pretty troubled childhood or something along those lines judging by certain things you can inspect in his room that give more context to him as a character which probably didn't help by the fact he was stuck in the room for so long.

Honestly I'm not sure about this - they are different in big ways and also similar in big ways....they to me, are more like 2 sides of the same coin, him the introvert and her the extrovert, him the shy good guy and her the outgoing, sweet good girl next door....they compliment each other great and are excellent for each other...just my thoughts

I also think that it is possible that eileen also had a difficult history, at least in some ways....like, just consider this, that for instance a lot of people (my mom as one example, who is a LOT like eileen actually), especially females, can indeed have extremely troubled backgrounds and can be incredibly traumatized inside by them, even though they look pretty and perfectly put together on the outside.. eileen I've long considered, could very well have been like this.....or maybe at least, maybe she had a good and wholesome family overall but she still had certain traumatic experiences....like, I don't think that walter attacking her like he did was a coincidence and not only because of the particular history he had with her and designating her as the 20th sacrament as a result...what if, the abuse she suffered at the hands of Walter, was also an example of revictimization? this honestly has continued to be one of the big reasons why I always hope for one of the better endings where she lives in spite of the horrible mess she suffers because of him whenever I watch this game, and why it always seriously bothers me whenever people make fun of her or put her down during gameplay.....eileen very well could have already been a victim and perhaps also in more ways than one, even though she looks beautiful and acts wholesome, because she also represents a lot of other women victims, who very much have been this at the same time that they have appeared to not be at surface level....just some more personal thoughts on her character and based on my own observations over the course of watching this game, and not only because she remains (other than Coleridge in Downpour) hands down my favorite silent hill character

@@RuminInLoveit was the first game of the series I ever played. Funny, and logically enough, I assumed the previous games tied into the series with this plot. I wanted to see the other victims and their stories before they were murdered. Now thinking back on it at 31, I think it would make for a very interesting storyline and game to play!

At least you won't need to worry about her situation. But seriously, don't play this game or sh3 on hard mode (especially sh3). Playing on normal gives you the best experience.

It absolutely is. But making 50% of the game one long escort mission, however... Whoever came up with that idea was a fucking idiot. It's such a damn shame, cause it ruins everything else about the game that is actually good. I just don't understand how Team Silent made such a massive blunder here. Did they somehow not know that escort missions was a universally hated game mechanic? And how primitive the AI was at that time? It really ruined the character of Eileen for me, and I fucking adore that woman! They must've fired the Quality Assurance testing crew or something. There is no way anyone did any testing whatsoever on this.

It's probably do-able on the PC version by exploiting the respawning nurse room and using the sub machine gun and hand gun to score kills after getting katana knock downs, but it'd be tight for sure. Probably would need to pull out a lot of steel pipe knockdowns with hand gun finishers on numb bodies too.

The nurse respawn isn't PC exclusive but I wouldn't want to use it personally; my version needs to be as exploit-free as possible. Henry is completely invincible during his dodge animation, so it can be very useful. I find myself using it all the time nowadays. Great for juking sniffer dogs.

Trying to witness the half-possessed/half-normal cutscene in the apartment lobby. You know the one I mean? I've gotten both the other ones in the SAME playthrough but I just can't strike the balance. How can I tell when she's half possessed? Will hitting her help?

Eileen has two stances, one where she's standing up straight and one where she's slouching. If she's slouching you'll get the worst cutscene, if not then you'll get one of the other two. Just make sure Eileen looks possessed, but not slouching. Eileen's possession value goes between 0.0 to 1.0, so anywhere between 0.5 - 0.7 possession should be fine.

Using a holy candle can also help trigger the in-between states. That’s how I achieved the different cutscenes at the end when they arrive in Sunderlands apartment and find the umbilical cord.
