Best U-Boat Captain in WW2 was: Otto Kretschmer, 16 patrols, 47 ships sunk, 273,043 tonnage. Cor blimey, that's an average of only 3 ships per patrol!

2:39 in my experience, the tdc DOES actually register half knot increments. if you put in 6.5 it will say 7 in the info, but if you look at the speed dial on the right, it will be between 6 and 7.

After the first impact, the rest of the ships will normally begin to move in a zig-zag pattern. So torpedos may not hit their targets, if they are fired too late.

I think the deck gunners aimed at the sky because you ordered the flak guns to be manned first. I don't play the game but I suspect the AI wasn't refined in 2010, so little bugs like this could occur.

Taff why does the description say U-473? Im pretty sure we are in U-437. But amazing patrol log! Can't wait to see what rewards you'll get. Looking at the IRL history logs, with this campaign you would've gotten 2nd most successful U-Boat commander! Keep up the good work!

HE is for lightly armored targets and blowing holes in the side of ships. HE at the waterline of a merchant ship is good, blows open bigger holes than AP. AP is for, for whatever reason, shooting at warships which have some modicum of armor to set off the fuses and enough crew packed in to actually cause damage from the shrapnel. Merchant ships have a small crew for the size of ship, the most AP could be used for on one is striking the engine area (lots of metal to set off the fuse and actually get damaged) or if they're carrying explosives to target those. Though HE might be better for the latter.

I wasted money buying this game and still think game 3 with add ons is better and the ID2X turbo charged with silent hunter 4 graphics
