silent hill is my favourite horror game. When i was around 9 i found a CD copy of the 1999 series from a stack of game discs that was in the basement.(which belonged to my brother) there was many other games too but SH caught my interest as a child , spooked yet curious about it. I didn't have a pc so i went to a friend who had a windows xp that time. We played the whole day , traumatised kids 😆 Often had nightmare and random spooked my whole life after that but still couldn't drop the game off after playing it. One time my friend's dad had enough of us screaming he decided to uninstall it. 💔 Its been many years now, im already 22 Since i couldn't finish it those days i was searching for gameplays and i found this channel full of SH games Definitely gonna watch everything i missed out from the SH series. Thank u so much 🔥🔥 Edit- im gonna watch this one the whole night rn!

You can still play the 1999 silent hill on the pc, download the game from oldgamesdownload, its legal since its abandonware and theres a video on youtube that tells you what to do to download and install all silent hill games from 1 to 4, follow the steps and youll play with the emulator, thats how i played the game and beat it last week

I've played this game as a kid in 2010 on PSP. It was my first Silent Hill game and made me fell in love with the whole franchise. I think this deserves a remake too although it's not made by Team Silent Hill. One of first weaponless horror/thriller games before it became trendy in 2013-2015.

Not really. The repetitive gameplay, the nonsensical level design, the big reveal that it was all in her head so none of it mattered at all. This was dissapointing to watch. Sure, It introduced some gameplay mechanics subsequent games have lifted, but that doesn't really elevate it all that much.

The dialogue is a bit different to what I got. At the reveal, the psychiatrist said to me, ".....he's not even a ghost! He doesn't exist!... wake up!" Then the dad showed up... "You've always been with me.." The dad's answer is most like, "I'm always with you.."

This story was really well written, but it can hardly be called a Silent hill game, it really tried to ride on Silent hill 1's tailcoat. Just running from enemies, while interesting, serves no greater purpose than to not completely be a walking simulator. I'd still play it, seems fun, and the story is so sad, it got me tear-eyed.

The events of the original was a story Cheryl deluded herself into believing to explain her grief of her father and her hatred towards her mother. She had to believe that he's trapped trying to rescue her from a demon-summoning witch. It's why she was in therapy. She even vilified her therapist in her story, as she was reluctant to let it go .. to let him go.

The entire game is Cheryl imagining her dad going through hell and back to find her, when in reality he is in fact dead; everyone he meets is either a figment of her imagination, or someone she interacted with IRL. Sometimes, you'll see a character get really close to spilling the beans and the world will freeze over; that's Cheryl preventing the illusion from dying. Anytime the world freezes really, you're getting too close to acknowledging Harry is really dead. The endings signify this, where Harry either freezes over, meaning Cheryl has let him go, or him staying, which only comes about if you disregard the therapy and shit.

This was at 3:19:13, the Love Lost ending. Then there's the mementos clip, followed by the credits. Perhaps the PS2 version played these in a different order.

As with all remakes, a good proportion of the story line is missing. And I am about to watch this play through. I fell asleep last time. Homecoming the machanics are superb, but the story is disjointed. Despite being mostly inspired by the based on truth horror movie, ‘Jacob’s Ladder.’ And keeping to the crazy cult theme. It sucks! And there is no crazy cult…. No wonder Hideo is mad. The crazy [expletive]’s sabotaged him.
