i think the reason for the witch buff is because in java sense they nerfed the raid farms. and raid farms in java was a source of alot of Redstone. they had to buff witches to balance the need for Redstone.

On one hand, i think the new piston sound being more subtle is actually good for a few Extremely popular uses of pistons in general gameplay. Like secret doors. It’s not a secret if someone can hear one is in the vicinity from like ten plus blocks away in any direction. It also wont be as jarring when a contraption at yours or a friends base suddenly fully activates next to you. On the downside, you are entirely right in that the classic sound seems much more powerful, like a large amount of force was suddenly exerted. And hearing that resounding noise from a massive contraption, like a tree farm, and watching it not literally disassemble/harvest itself at the same time is pretty rewarding. And i will miss that feeling.

agreed. honestly if Mojang is gonna go this route with silencing the pistons, just make it a separate item in the game so we have the OG Loud Pistons and then change the crafting recipe slightly to make the Silent Pistons. I think that would be the best move that way both sides of players are happy.

Old pistons= sounds like wood metal and rock, like how items were made in the good ol days. New pistons=sounds like cheap plastic that will break any second.... But i kinda like the new sound. The old sound was really obnoxious. But it will be weird and different.

so, petrified oak slabs: long story short they have been flattening the ids for blocks gradually throughout 1.20. Three previews ago they have flattened stone slabs and accidentally deleted the petrified oak slab for 1 preview, so they added it back in the following preview. that's it no updates have been made, the only change is that you can get it directly with a command. no arbitrary data values are required

If you think the sound of pistons is too loud just turn down the redstone volume slider. Or if you like hearing the sounds of other devices there are resource packs such as vanilla tweaks (and bedrock tweaks, it's port to BE) that have an option for that.

The problem with the looting change is that it’s balanced around big farms. I don’t do big farms, so for me getting less armour and bows is going to be very bad

It's cool that the witch farms are better now, but i still can't get them to work on my server even though everything works fine on normal worlds.

Anyone that hasn’t yet. Stack up on wither skulls & tridents I guess. Possibly tridents too like suggested but I hardly see it needed as they clog up storage so often.

Hey silent. Always look forward to your videos. Are the villager nerfs coming in this update, or is still an experiment? Cause I want to nerf the nerf by building a villager breeder in every necessary biome then make an ice highway or rail network to them, possibly in the nether, all to a central trading hall. Should I prep that or continue with standard orthodox methods because it’s still an experiment, or is it implemented in the update

I always kept the gold swords from my gold farms in a chest near my anvils if they had a ton of enchantments on them an would disenchant them for that last nudge of xp I always seem to need

Or just expand your gold farm and you'll get more XP. A quad portal ticking gold farm gets you to level 30 in under 2 minutes

I think the main issue with farming mobs. they all have overlapping loot. Witches drop redstone. But clerics sell redstone. Which is safer and easier to farm. If the mobs each had something a villager could not provide. Then I def made a farm from another mob like a witch. It gives more desire to do. Sorry, still no interest in farming, hager, and her sister. No need. (Hands ems to cleric villager for redstone) later.

The piston sounds... Hmmm old sound is very mechanical or like a solenoid activation. New sound seems like they are trying to make it sound like a pneumatic air piston. But over the audio in this video, it kind of sounds 'juicy'. Not really a good sound as it is, because 'reasons'. I hope they adjust the sound so that it can't as easily be abused or made the butt of endless jokes.

The new piston sound is horible. I really liked the mechanical sound of the old pistons and they sound so cool in mega farms. But it would also be cool if they just changed it to a more subtle but still mechanical sound.
