This is the ultimate: using ready-made garments to create the right style and fit. Your ideas and instructions for doing this are so helpful and insightful. Thanks so much. It has brought a great option for my style and wardrobe options when I can't find the right fabric to sew something. I also think there is so much excess secondhand clothing for sale on-line and in secondhand stores out there. Most of what I see still has life and this is a great way to alter and adjust very inexpensive garments that would other be useless and become part of the landfill. It is amazing what people give away. It goes back to one of your videos where you say that "you have to find what you like and create base patterns that give those measurements and fit". It helped me so much to realize that I didn't have to wear clothing based on the structure I find on the hanger. And I can have all my garments look amazing on me and flatter me, so I always have fun things to wear and sew. You always bring it, and you are so inspiring to watch. I use what I have learned from you every day. And I always learn more. I hope you have a great holiday season.

Thank you for opening my mind to this. I used to be intimidated and think that I was stuck with ugly clothes. Thanks for showing that I can fearlessly cut and sew, and fit.

I've been cutting & tweaking RTW for years. Mostly men's cotton tshirts, but nicer clothes too. I needed a "white" thin sweater as a layering piece for traveling light overseas. I bought a $12 long sleeved top at a discount store. Cut it up the center front, put in a fine toothed zipper. Currently am wearing a sweatshirt from Sam's club a few years ago. I wasn't wearing it much as I need things to be adjustable. Cut the front, a zipper will go in one day this winter. Fabric IS everywhere.
