mie 1 second ago Dear Peggy - I have said it before - but I feel that I must say it again. Thank you! You present patterns/sewing/fit in a way that makes sense and brings home what sewing is and entails. Because of you - I understand fit. and fit adjustments. I have read all about fit... But...nothing made sense until I started watching you. I am still learning about pattern/fabric combinations but I make far fewer mistakes. I think, looking back, that these mistakes really taught me a lot. Maybe these mistakes had to happen. I have kept the garments that were total fails to remind me. It is about learning who we are and what feels good on our bodies. Sewing has taught me about my body. I think before I started sewing my own clothes, I really had no clue about my body and its unique shape. Although I love the beautiful dresses I admire on instagram on the gorgeous 30 somethings...It has taken me at least 3 years! to really understand that I will NEVER wear a flowery summer dress. This was a light bulb moment. I seem to feel best and most attractive in more manish styles. Again - it is about learning who I am. I think mistakes are the such good teachers. And I love what you said about mental comfort. That idea was over looked by me. So I understand now that sewing for me will be a constant process of learning about not only the process of sewing and what that entails but about learning more about myself.

Thank you for another great Q & A session. Loved that we could see the questions you were reading. Great format tonight. I have Korz top pattern but had not made it because of the zippers but now I know I don’t need them. Duh, why didn’t I think of that before tonight? You are so very creative or you just have better shops around you to get some great ideas. A little of both I would suppose. Thanks again for all you show us.

You have been “hacking” patterns before that term was trending. You have given me to courage to do the same. I recently made a short sleeve blouse where I split the sleeve and added a grommet with ties at the bottom. So much fun! Question...do you consider pattern hacking as pattern making? When people request how to change a pattern to a store piece of clothing, you some times reply that is pattern making and can’t be covered except in the pattern making class and yet I consider it hacking. What is your definition of each? Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I never miss an episode or as I call them, mini classes.

speaking of transferring fit changes to pattern or garment I read somewhere to trace pattern on clear plastic sheeting with Sharpies. the woman said she has actually sewed the fitted plastic pattern and tried it on? wonder how this would be.
