Thank you! I was considering getting a Cricut Heat Press but not sure if I'd have the need. Now I can do a few projects with my iron and then see if I'll end up doing enough projects to need a heat press. Thanks again.

What can I use in place of a teflon sheet on top? Will parchment paper work? Other options for the pad on the bottom?

I use cooking paper and it works
@jmdenison4 жыл бұрын
@@Navitrolla what is cooking paper? I would imagine parchment is fine. I bet wax paper works too but it will get your iron a bit waxy. plus there is freezer paper too which is plastic coated and a lot of quilters use it for patterns and paper piecing. always iron shiny side down

Say I have a design with multiple colors can I transfer all the colors to one transfer piece like a decal and iron all at once? Trying to help my daughter across the us , she’s wanting to make her own shirts . Her design has three separate colors and a front and back image for the shirt. I’m curious if I could just send her the whole image ready to go or if I would need to send her the separate layers and her assemble on her own.

Do you have a video showing how you created your design?
@SilhouetteSchool3 жыл бұрын
All of my design tutorials are on SilhouetteSchoolBlog.com. Most of my design videos are on SilhouetteU.com

Does the type of iron matter? I saw a different video that said to use an iron with the holes on the outside, not all over the iron. That's the kind of iron that Melissa is using in the video as well.
@SilhouetteSchool3 жыл бұрын
We haven't done a whole lot of testing with different irons but it would make sense to not have holes across the platen. If that's the kind you have though, I'd suggest trying a scrap on a piece of material, no reason to run out for a new iron if you don't have to!

not all my letters stuck to my t-shirt. What happened and how can I fix it?
@jmdenison4 жыл бұрын
not enough heat or not enough pressure or not enough time. carefully and slowly peel away. as soon as you see something is lifting off, stop and try a few more seconds. you might want to get a newer iron if yours isn't heating. try checking the temp with one of those laser thermometers. good luck

Question! does the Vinyl actually stay on the fabric after the wash while using the iron?
@jmdenison4 жыл бұрын
cricut claims it should last for 50 washings, but as always, turn your shirts inside out and wash on delicate if you can

love it. excellent!

What is the temperature you have to set in the iron?
@kimcasey87745 жыл бұрын
Set your iron to the cotton or cotton blend setting
@jmdenison4 жыл бұрын
cotton, which is generally the highest temp on your iron. but if you are ironing on a cotton blend, try using that setting first, it's one notch cooler than cotton

How do you get the designs? If I buy the htv.....how do I get my design
@jmdenison4 жыл бұрын
once you buy a circut or silhouette, they come with free designs and they have a website. you can down load their designs and customize them using their software. you can add names, words, resize the design. add elements, take out elements with the software. it's fairly easy but you should be familiar with the use of a computer and basic software. if not, get a kid to teach you. public libraries now have free computer classes too. many are open now. many very cute designs are free, fifty cents or just a dollar, not a big expense. you can buy on silhouette monthly packages for $9 and get another $9 half off.

Either you have tiny hands or that iron is enormous.
