Peter, The supposedly " most modern " part of Bangalore called Indiranagar has a 50 foot wide open sewer running along Old Madras Road.... that stinks up that part of the town!. People eating along !00 Feet Road have to put up with the exhaust fumes from buses etc!. Construction rubble and garbage all over the city!. How is that being clean and beautiful?."

Smelly streets, people throwing thrash on footpath, street vendors enchroaching footpaths, never ending construction works, etc. Ever been through silk board traffic? Ever been in rrnagar bottleneck? Ever drove beside the Kengeri mori? Ever been to KR market via satellite? Ever been through Baiyappanahalli traffic? Fųc,k this city

this is great, i havent been to Bangalore yet, however i do travel quite a bit and I often hear from my fellow americans this weird belief that the rest of the world doesnt have the things they do, this is AS modern as any high street in europe or the usa and in some cases much cleaner than places like South Street in Philadelphia for example. Thanks for sharing, hope you dont mind me holding this up as an example to the stupid and nationalistic.

Order is ingrained in the western brain which isn't a bad thing but what they should understand is that it's really not difficult to replicate that anywhere in the world as you see in this video, it's just a choice. Western looking is considered progress but people used to flock to these streets even in the 80's or 90's when it wasn't so western looking, buildings had no flashy exterior & the streets weren't cobblestoned with proper footpaths on either sides.

So true!. The Tendersure Project of the Congress State Government resulted in the Central Business District looking good....although the maintenance needs to be kept up!. Garbage bins even in our pride and joy....CHURCH STREET...are always full and sometimes overflowing!. Not Good 😒 The ever increasing number of vendors on Church Street.. some of them even encroaching on the sidewalk...aka...footpath....is beginning to rob this road of its cleanliness and modernity!..

Yes Bangalore has always been a different city since several decades ( very cosmopolitan, neat and modern). Very colourful and lively. However India is the only country in the world where we don't have pedestrian sidewalks either in big cities or in small towns. Always horrible and unpleasant to walk on streets navigating amidst two wheelers, cars, busses and lorries. Even if you find rarely footpaths it will be occupied by the shps and street vendors. I think even when we become the second or third biggest economy it won't change. Jai Bharat 🇮🇳
