Just came across this vid again whilst doing a search. I still can't get a hang of this! It's showing me FLAMES 😭 I mean I've had a few successful prints but bed leveling...Urrrrggggg. Pity you're not as much invested into making 3D printing videos anymore 😭
@KellyRossouw2 жыл бұрын
Ag shame man Maya, I have only ever done a few 3D printing videos - it doesnt really suit my audience. What are you struggling with? Maybe I could point you in a specific direction?
@Be3Al23 жыл бұрын
can you please make more videos like this please and thank you take care p.s and that I actually learned something :) quick question wouldn't TPU filament better a better choice over PLA and or PETG filaments? The reason why 'm asking is because, I'm new and just starting out with 3D printing :)
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! TPU is definitely more flexible, and can work as an external housing for a mould yes, I still haven't quite gotten the hang of TPU, so I dont use it :)

I’m a crafter too, I started off with tinkercad but switched to Shapr3D it’s very intuitive to use and has more features 🙂

nice! I still havent dabbled much in 3D software :P

Hi Liz. Is Sharpr3D software free? Or...?
@lindseylewis5374 Жыл бұрын
Tinkercad seems a bit overwhelming to me 🥴 how are you liking shapr3d. I bought my printer for freshie molds to make for myself so I don’t want to spend another 600 for more software
@Rene0463 жыл бұрын
tip level your bed with printing temperature bed expands to. if your filament breaks so easy it 's to old and have been dried out. buy a 3d printing adhesive spray.. expensive but you can make thousands of prints you only use a bid.

Hi! Thank you for the information! What brand is your 3D printer? Does the brand matter?
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
I have a Creality CR10-V2. brand doesnt *really* matter, but some brands are better than others - unfortunately with a price tag to match. eg - Prusa printers are known to be very expensive, but can also be very overwhelming to someone who is new because they are also very complicated
@jnssmnsn2 жыл бұрын
@@KellyRossouw Prusa printers are exactly the opposite, VERY EASY to use. No manual leveling at all, prints right out of the box

Did you use platinum or tin cure silicone? If you used platinum, how did you prevent cure inhabition? Was it the varnish?
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I always use platinum cure silicone - you just need to avoid using latex, urethane or silicone rubber with platinum cure :)

Hi ma'am, I saw a post that I can 3d print a mold. However, my concern is, if i need to make it a silicone mold before casting it with resin? Or it is okay if I use the 3d printed mold with resin, without making a silicone mold.
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni! You should make it silicone before pouring the resin in. If you do not, it will be more of a once off mould, as the exothermic reaction from the resin will likely melt the mould out of shape (plastic softens and disfigures when exposed to heat).

@4funrc113 жыл бұрын
@@KellyRossouw Sure. The following link should explain. In essence, draft is the amount of taper for molded or cast parts perpendicular to the parting line. Which is required for easy removal of part from mold(s). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_(engineering)

Fellow 3D Printing enthusiast here... I know this is an older video, but for the benefit of your viewers just in case... You should really try to avoid leveling your printer bed with the stepper motors off. When the steppers are off you are relying strictly on gravity to keep the hot-end suspended at the correct height. If the steppers are on, the motor is keeping tension on the lead screw. However, it will require that you move the print head by means of a GCODE file or via the printer menu.
