Australian pouring Medium: Fluid art
Mont marte clear glue or “keep it simple” pouring medium is used for my usual work is a mix of 70% glue 30% warm water.
Add this mix to paint until correct consistency required for your particular technique.
Link is for mixing acrylic paint with pouring medium for your fluid art creations
• NEW FANTASTIC PRODUCT ...
I add my pouring medium to my paint slowly until I achieve the consistency of pouring cream, approximately 50/50 more pm if needed, not all paint brands may react with this pouring medium, so just test out.
paint brands mostly used are the Global impasto paints, Amsterdam paints, pebeo paints, also Mont marte studio acrylics, or pouring paints.
I Certainly explore different brands and mediums, it’s all part of the learning process.
“Cell Activation”
Extra special cell and lace and bloom like creation is found with Amsterdam paints add Aussie floetrol until correct consistency required, then used in pour or used to swipe details, “Aussie slides” are easily created this method.
If I add silicone this is what I do.

Gilly, I love the way you show how one can rework a piece when you are not totally sold on its direction. The end results of this piece are quite beautiful. The lacing and the cells really make the work. The skewer work just makes the piece, as well. Cheers!

Maria Brookes does not use canvas, she uses some sort of thick plastic sheeting that is flexible. She bends it in different directions on the edge of her countertop to get the cells to stretch to their unique shape. I really like this color combination!

Beautiful Gilly, love the colours and the design. I think it looks great in the frame. I googled Maria Brooks and she has a video on youtube showing her process. She uses high impact polystyrene sheeting to paint on so she can bend it to stretch the cells.

Oh my goodness... this painting is gorgeous!! The cells🤩...I need some boom booster...I love the wisps...how they look really is amazing... The silicone oil I have doesn't create cells like the Helmar so, I have to get some of that too...I can see the difference in how the cells turn out... Thank you for the lesson today...I am always impressed with your outcome( s). Stay well...Julie in Canada????? Beginning to wonder!! 🤔

Gilly that is beautiful, it looks like fuild art meets water colors. I think the feathers are awesome, but instead of the silicone causing that to happen. I would be leaning more towards the fact that you thinned way down the white, and with Aussie Floetrol, that looked really really thin after you added more floetrol to it. Maybe acombo of that and the silicone already in the other paint as well, but it made your lines widen out instead of cell up. Very interesting technique, hope it dried as beautiful as it was wet. ❤

Beautiful!! Gilly ive been following you for a few years now, so know your older art silicone cells! I managed to get great results using a tumble dryer ball - the bumpy plastic kind, rolled in silicon them over my paint. It looks like frogspawn! I was happy with the results but it was hard to wash off the silicon 😂

It's called, don't stretch too soon. Let the cells populate first, then only stretch them out at the last minute, and you get cells upon cells upon cells...then you can stretch the cells into even bigger cells. I saw the video.

It’s strange… but in a good way 😊 it is, though there are three parts to it - you’ve got a strip of the white cells with some color here and there that are pretty. Then you’ve got this area of dark cells which are also pretty. Then you got these swoopy iridescent seaweed that are awesome. And I agree with you as you were doing close-ups in different areas I could totally see prints being made of individual sections… do you know if you can make a print and then paint on top of that? For instance, there were a couple of areas that I thought would look really cool if there were a tree standing in it or a pretty little butterfly. Anyway, as always, I love your creativity. ❤❤❤

Have you tried making a spots of paints maybe two colors or so each then sandwich them between strips of black paint top and bottom. Then adding a pin drop of silicone in the middle of the spots. The thinking is that the spots will grow but will be held in place by the other growing spots. I don’t know if I can explain it better. 😅
