The exposure from KZbin shorts is great because the algorithm seems more fair for smaller channels. Too bad the payout isn't nearly as good as long form content. Great video I enjoyed it!

@jango he's not using the OFFICIAL type of shorts. He's basically recording a small video and not using the shorts feature. (which puts it on the "shorts shelf) Very smart man.

I don't know about tick tok being the 1st to do shorts. Remember when KZbin 1st came out, people did short videos all the time. Then when Google purchased KZbin they changed the format allowing longer videos.

the duration is maximum 1 min, so 10X less than a 10min video is not surprising. what will be surprising is how youtube is going to make money from this set of shorter attention span audience (similar to tik tokers)

Do your Shorts skyrocket and then come to a screeching halt? That's what mine do. They'll get a couple thousand views in less than a day and then they'll get almost no views after that. Not complaining at all. Just curious if that is the norm for bigger channels like yours. 🤔

Interesting, but for mostly people they can't rely only by doing these shorts without an affiliate sale strategy or some PLR that can gather emails from a part of the followers and get new emails to prospect new sales, otherwise it is useless and waste time creating an channel

If the shorts follow the same general topic or theme as the regular long-form content, then I don't see how they would alienate regular viewers. Your shorts just need to complement your regular videos in terms of the overall subject matter of your channel.
