Silk came to country club hill theater in chicago in August 2016...I've waited years to see them..they never lost it..their vocal we so on point my heart was fluttering. Can't wait to see then again next year

Silk dropped Freak Me my freshman year in college. They performed live on Video Soul and my partner Mike was pointing at the screen hollering "Them boys harmonizing!" I was at the Black Expo in Chicago in '99 because my cousin had a booth that year and got me and my brothers and her brother in for free, and Silk hit the stage and performed "if You". I don't think the single had been released yet. Them boys sounded almost the same live as they do in the studio. The only reason you know they're live is because they never perform the songs exactly like they did in the studio. That's always the test for me. I don't care how good you sound in the studio if you can't put it down on stage, and Silk always shows up. Lil G is in the same category with Luther, one of those rare singers whose pitch, timing, breathing is always perfect, and does it effortlessly. And can hit high notes like Mariah Carey and Minnie Ripperton. Silk, Jodeci, and Dru Hill set the bar so high that R&B groups have pretty much gone extinct.
