Not sure Linda what you have planned, but I’m sure there is a lot of is that we would love to look through your old artwork. If there are pieces you feel happy and comfortable to share and like you said it’s an exceptional amount of work so maybe you would like to make it into a mini series where you just do chunks that are manageable for you at a pace that suits you. I think we’re all here for the long haul so you just do it at your own pace. I was so glad that Christmas was over to this year. I was really missing my mum it’s been 13 years but I was only 24 when I lost her and she was the heart of Christmas in our family, I’m definitely one. Looking forward to the New Year also.

When my head has ideas that aren't quite revealed but I can see something coming that needs attention, the first thing I do is clean up my space. I can so relate to what you are doing! I felt your energy and have been easing into making my space usable--you have pushed me a bit more with your positive actions! Thank you so much for running this channel because you have been so inspiring and relatable. I am living a shut-in life right now and it is driving me crazy. Finding you and your channel has given my a new community and that is a big deal. I loved seeing your husband doing his own thing and with his left hand! His drawing was fantastic and I love that he allowed you to show us some of his process. Art has been a part of my whole life, but over the last few years I have had to deal with so much negativity that it all just broke me to the point where I was doing nothing. I have a long way to go and I am not getting any younger, so I'd better get back to it! The art nest idea helped a lot and a friend of mine came to help me re-arrange my stuff so I could have an art nest corner! Next step--a small work table for bigger ideas and projects that will come out of me art nest work. Sound like a plan?! Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself this past year. I had seen one where you said you were having to move, leaving behind you beautiful double sink and moving somewhere where you couldn’t have paper (?). I felt very sad for you. I have friends who sell semi precious stones, crystals, etc. on a livestream on FB 4x a year. Each stone is presented and has a number. The first person who claims that number during the livestream gets to buy it then and there. (One of them takes the cc info right away). That seems like the simplest way to sell without having to upload and photograph everything. I could see you doing something similar, each week you could do a video of 5 or 10 paintings, so as not to get overwhelmed. And you could describe and talk about each painting the way you describe your sketchbook tours, letting us know what medium you used, if you remember, etc that kind of thing. Buyers and non buyers would all enjoy the video I am sure. The first person to email you with interest in the painting would get to buy it. It would also give you a nice record of your work without having to store it.

Thanks for sharing that idea. It sounds interesting, but is a little more than I can take on at this time with my health being what it is. I just don’t have the energy to do live streams. I film most of my videos in short 10 minute bursts and then rest.

If you think about what you have named your channel, it’s actually quite perfect for when you’re talking about going down the Rabbit hole. A BEGINNERS mind is full of intentions and what they are going to learn and how exactly they want to go about it and it’s very methodical and logical thinking. Take that same person a few months into their art journey and you’ll see a switches to an ART MIND. “This is so cool, oh what about that shiny watercolour, what about that paper, ooh let’s try that sketchbook SQUIRREL??? I have a video where I share about the meaning of “Beginners Mind“ in the vein of Buddhist teachings, empty, no expectations, free, open to a new experience, free from the logical, thinking, mind, etc. It’s a constant reminder to me to let go of expectations, and to just allow what comes to move through me and my art. I love your paintings and can see them in an oracle deck design! Beautiful. It looks like you prefer to paint on paper. What paper do you use and do you gesso it before you paint?

Thanks so much Gwen, I use all kinds of paper from cheap Blick paper to expensive Arches and Saunders paper. Cason mixed media, and Strathmore mixed media are a couple of favorites for acrylics and gouache. I used to always gesso my paper before painting but now I kind of prefer painting on raw paper.

I painted the wartime nativity painting on Cason mixed media paper. I tape my paper to gator board to make it rigid for painting at my easel. Hope that helps!

What ratio is your peroxide and water mix?

I’ve never measured it but I don’t think I use more than 1/4 peroxide to 3/4 water. Use the mix to sprit down my acrylics each day while they’re in the wet palette.
