I tend to comment while I'm watching, so it'll look like comment spam. Having come from a traditional saw background, I've always found cutting on the pull stroke to be difficult. Having said that, I want a Silky, and now that you've pointed me in the right direction, I know where to buy (I'm in Brissie). On the subject of oiling. I use Inox 'Lanox', with the Lanolin. I also use it on my leather sheaths and boots :). I've gotta say though, I usually use the 'smash the branch against a bigger log' method of cutting firewood. I'll use the silky to cut shelter and platform material (and probably firewood when I buy one). (EDIT) when I saw you take the saw out first time, I thought that was the packaging. I'd be interested in buying a sheath from you too once you're sorted.

I got this from brissy actually , arborlab.com.au great service. I love the silkys have a few now. i just think the pull only cut just stops the blade breaking. That inox is great isnt it brad

yeah i like our videos to be more art pieces. as well as gear vids, i am a photographer as well so will keep it the same. looking at doing more landscape based vids too, thanks for your input though

Would you recommend the 210 or 240? Is there a significant difference? Work the extra cost and weight to go for the 240?

yeah its a killer saw to carry, not much bigger than the old faithful Bahco Laplander but cuts a lot faster
