In particular his upthrow. Something that people who are trying to get better at smash should try and do is if its a true combo, don't mash air dodge, just di in a way that might make it harder to hit the combo. If its not a true combo, neutral air dodge/jump/ and drift away. Or else you get sweet spot upsmashed haha

​@saam7737 yeah! 100% agree. Higher level players will understand that a lot of the combos that hit them are true, and will be alright with taking the hit and instead planning what to do AFTER the true combo is over.

@@SuilongV3 I have recently been trying to get all characters into Elite, and this habit has been backfiring on me a bit, cause when fighting people not in elite, half of them cant hit a combo to save their wife and children, and so i just take the hit like a bot LMAO

7:51 I personally think armor or any kind of invincibility is a fine mechanic, it's just haphazardly applied. Armoring through a weaker attack with a slower, stronger attack of your own at the right time is a good way to break up the neutral game, and gives slower moves the chance to shine and introduce counterplay to the game. Even Yoshi wrinkles gameplay and functions because his double jump can break combos and allows his character to recover in a unique way. But then you've got the likes of Tough Guy which gives you minor armor for merely existing, and Warlock punch, which will never punish anyone with it's armor unless you're psychic and your opponent panics.

I found a dk that was lagging the whole time, but when we were on our last stock they broke my shield at 65 and as soon as they begin to set up their attack the lag just suddenly disappears. I was winning the whole time too so the whole match was laggy as heck The dks name was "Ladiesfirst"
