Turbo is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film directed by Vysakh, written by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced by Mammootty under Mammootty Kampany. The film stars Mammootty in titular role, alongside Raj B. Shetty, Sunil in their debuts in Malayalam cinema. The music was composed by Christo Xavier, while Vishnu Sarma and Shameer Muhammed handled the cinematography and editing respectively. Turbo is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 23 May 2024.
Turbo Jose, a Jeep driver from Idukki, gets in trouble and is forced to relocate to Chennai, where he gets entangled with Indhulekha and his brother Jerry. However, a bunch of surprises in the form of Vetrivel Shanmugham and others await Jose in Chennai.
Midhun Manuel Thomas is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in the Malayalam film industry. Thomas began his career in the Malayalam film industry in 2014 as the scriptwriter of the film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, directed by Jude Anthany, starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim. His directorial debut movie was 2015's Aadu, starring Jayasurya, Vijay Babu and Sunny Wayne. Later he directed Annmariya Kalippilaanu (2016), Alamara (2017), Aadu 2 (2017) and Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu (2019). In 2020, he directed Anjaam Pathiraa.
Raj B. Shetty is an Indian actor, director, and screenwriter who works in Kannada film industry. He gained recognition through his directorial debut, Ondu Motteya Kathe (2017), which was a huge commercial success. He further cemented it with Gubbi Mele Brahmastra (2019), Mayabazar 2016 (2020), and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (2021), which got widespread acclaim and is now considered to be one of the best films of Kannada cinema.
He has frequently voiced the issues of writers in Kannada Movie industry. Apart from Acting, he is an avid dog lover which was one of his reasons to be part of the 2022 Blockbuster 777 Charlie. He is also credited to have composed the climax portions of the Blockbuster movie Kantara. Raj frequently collaborates with Cinematographer and editor Praveen Shriyan whom he considers one of the pillar of his movies. He also acted in the movie Pedro directed by Natesh Hegde which was a big hit in the film festivals.
Mammootty is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Malayalam-language films. He has also appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English-language productions. In a career spanning five decades, he has appeared in more than 410 films, predominantly in lead roles. He is the recipient of several accolades, including three National Film Awards, nine Kerala State Film Awards, eleven Kerala Film Critics Awards and thirteen Filmfare Awards South. For his contribution to film, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 1998. In 2022, he was honoured with Kerala Prabha Award, the second-highest civilian honour given by the Government of Kerala. His highest-grossing releases include the action comedy Madhura Raja (2019), the action thriller Bheeshma Parvam (2022), and the crime thriller Kannur Squad (2023)
