Trivia Murder Party 2 is much better for international audiences since they added the option to remove US-centric questions. So for me as a European, getting questions about US history or celebrities in the first Trivia Murder Party often lead to me and my friends just looking at each other asking ''who?''. But now we get the mix of ''Oh I know this!'' and ''Oh god what is this!?'' a lot more often and it feels way more balanced for us that aren't from the states.

This reminds me when I got in a fight with my best friend over him accusing me of being the alien due to the fact that at a prompt about historical figures I said Julius Caesar, while the other player tested (which was the alien) put a random name of a person. Eventually he convinced everyone that I was an alien and I got kicked out, revealing the lose of the humans and my best friend apologized to me

In my personal experience, Dictionarium works well as a warm up/cool down game during Jackbox nights. It's simplistic, and rounds go quickly, so it's a good exercise to warm up the group and get their brains ready to write quality stuff in Quiplash, or for when the party is winding down and people are starting to exit. I have this same feeling about Blather Round in PP7 as well - more low key games for when the group is at a lull and not at full blown party mode.

its interesting because party pack 6 seems like one of the weaker entries to me. Like, if it wherent for trivia murder party 2, it probably wouldnt be nearly as popular. Even one of the better games, push the button, is flawed in that, the hacking mechanic just goes against the game's premise completely. Any Jackbox with no drawing games is a good Jackbox by me. I fucking hate drawing. Dictionarium is one of my favorites just because I like trying to fit a puzzle piece together, and it has my favorite host out of any Jackbox game; she's exceedingly charming. I love Joke Boat for how stupid it gets, and while the themeing of Trivia Murder Party makes me uncomfortable, focusing on the trivia and mini games makes it fun. I also hate social deception games but Push the Button manages to deal with my issues very well. I'm the opposite of "join Among Us games and quit if you're not Imposter", I quit if I'm not Crewmate. I HATE lying and I'm TERRIBLE at it. But there's so much going on in PTB and not so much I have to hide that it makes it easier. Oddly enough I've never played Role Models, so no opinion on that, but that aside JB6 has some of my favorite games and doesn't have any games I just literally can't play.

I really don’t like Push The Button, which is a bit surprising because I enjoy games such as mafia or among us. My biggest problem is that the mind games in it are much simpler than other games. It just boils down to saying “oh I was hacked trust me” if you’re an alien. If you’re an innocent, then the game consists of guessing who’s actually lying about being hacked. It’s not fun to be on either side.
@silokhawk2 жыл бұрын
If you're playing with competent people, lying about "being hacked" will never work more than twice. Even if you say it once, again, unless you're playing with morons, you're basically setting yourself up to either 1: continually be tested until you can prove your innocence; Or 2. be a prime suspect for the Bio-Scanner. Saying you were hacked is an absolute last resort strategy as an Alien because a good player will always keep that claim in the back of their head; If you think you can even remotely defend your answer, that is almost always the better strategy. It's a very low-level strat that usually only buys you a minute or 2 tops before you're found out.
@stuffedanimalwars76922 жыл бұрын
Ofc if you can defend yourself then you absolutely should, however a lot of the time you just simply can’t from my experience. Maybe I’ve just gotten super unlucky with the prompts.
@TyGuy90012 жыл бұрын
Pack 6 is the most Mediocre pack so far imo. I would say TMP 2 is the best of the bunch and Push the Button is the worst just slightly below Joke Boat. I think that there really is just 1 really good game here and 2 more “social toys” than games is unfortunate but not as bad as 5. Also, I super disagree with your push the button praises. Maybe I don’t have the best “friend groups” to play with on it. Among Us/werewolf and Mafia still feel like way better and fairly designed games (One night ultimate werewolf being my favorite). The biggest issue, and I’ve seen others in the comments echoing this, (and just my many friends irl and online playing it with friends when it came out and otherwise) is that the aliens have way too many tools and ways to win versus the Humans. Aliens have so many potential scenarios for winning (which are greatly compounded the more people are playing) while humans have literally just a single one, letting out all, AND ONLY, aliens with no room for error. It’s the imbalance and utter baffling decisions for win condition that make it a frustration simulator to me more than anything.
@silokhawk2 жыл бұрын
I just played 4 games in my jackbox server last night and humans won all 4 games. Not until I made that server and watched other people play did I understand why so many people don't like Push, most people have zero idea what they’re doing. No one ever speeds up, and people see "I was hacked" as a trump card opposed to the huge red flag that it is. I would highly recommend playing PTB in person with a close group of friends before making a final judgement; Because if your games are anything like the ones I've observed some kiddies play, the lobbies are such a dumpster fire it's near impossible to get any concrete info on someone.
@TyGuy90012 жыл бұрын

The thing that makes TMP 1 and 2 for me is how the selection of trivia seems to be meaner. There's no more "skill gap" based on who's more in tune with pop culture since a lot of the questions are designed to be a little BS so that you spend more time playing minigames and the chance of dying is actually there. It also makes it so that when you do get a question right, either by sheer luck or actually knowing it, its all the more sweet.

I wanna say this- I bet you lot that both Trivia Murder Party 2 and Push the Button were meant to be the pack's big stars, while Joke Boat, Dictonarium and Role Medals were meant to be the shorter supplementary games to balance out with TMP2 and PtB's potentially long lengths. Because you know, it's a goddamn pack. Also, I love the fact that they expanded the LORE for the serial killer.
@ClarifiedMusic2 жыл бұрын
Pack 6 is such a mixed bag for me since it simultaneously contains some of the best games in the series alongside some of the absolute worst. However, I found that this pack really grew on me the more I played it. Trivia Murder Party 2 took everything that made the 1st one good, and improved upon it. The trivia is more updated, the minigames are more interesting and the presentation is top notch. Admittedly, I wasn't a huge fan of the gate feature in the final round since I saw it as a means of leaving players in the dust, but as I played it more and more, the more I appreciated it and found that it works as a smart equalizer and a tension builder. Trivia Murder Party 2 is by far the best trivia game in the entire series. For me, Role Models falls into the same pitfall as Tee-KO and Talking Points where the developers had a strong concept, but didn't know how to implement a proper scoring feature. The idea is strong and has led to some funny moments, but it never felt like a functioning game; it was more like a toy as you said in the video. If you're playing with close friends, it's an absolute blast laughing and arguing over who fits what category, which I enjoy. However, this game is borderline impossible to play with strangers and becomes more frustrating than fun. Joke Boat Sucks. I can't add anything else that hasn't already been said in the video. The prompts are too restrictive, the pacing is slow, and it doesn't even fall into the ironically funny category; it's just painful to play. Just play Quiplash or Survive the Internet (even if the latter is too open ended at times imo); this is by far the worst fill-in-the-blank game in the series. Dictionarium just kind of exists for me personally. While it can be funny, I never find myself dying to play this with friends everytime we play Jackbox. One thing that I'm surprised you didn't mention in the video is how close you need to follow the game's instructions in order to enjoy this one. Since every round builds upon the previous, everyone needs to follow the games directions and come up with actual synonyms/definitions. In games like Survive the Internet and Patently Stupid, players can get away with straying from the intended format/structure as long as the end results are funny. In Dictionarium, as soon as players stray away from what the game is asking of them, it immediately falls apart and the end results are just underwhelming. Not the worst Jackbox game by a long shot, but not one that I'd commonly return to. Push the Button definitely grew on me the most as I played it more. The first time I played it was on a Discord call with friends at 3:00 in the morning and none of us knew how to play it, which led to an underwhelming experience. However, I played it again a few months later and it was far more enjoyable, and was surprised by how nuanced the social deduction is in this game (more nuanced than Among Us imo). My only real issue with this game is that it requires a lot of effort to learn and teach to others, leading to a higher entry level, and that's not even entirely the game's fault. Can't really say anything else that hasn't already been said in the video. TL;DR: Overall, Pack 6 is a solid pack, even if the selection is a mixed bag imo. It's best games are some of the best in the series and are worth buying the pack for alone (Trivia Murder Party 2 and Push the Button). Role Models and Dictionarium are solid, but not must-plays imo, and Joke Boat just flat out sucks; just play literally any other fill in the blank game in the series. End of my long ramble. I can't wait to hear your full thoughts on Pack 7 in the future!

For me Push the Button seems just as random and incomprehensible as Among Us. I miss everything that is happening, I have no idea what is going on and instead of participating and being in the know, I sit there confused and stressed. And to top it off hacks means aliens always win whenever we play it in friend group. Maybe I'm not a fan of social games at all where it's entirely up to who you're playing with that dictates how fun the game is.
@silokhawk2 жыл бұрын
27:17 footage of us winning a 10 player game with 3 aliens (6 hacks) in this very video. As long as everyone understands the game. It's not too hard to win a game as humans with most player counts (half my recorded games were human wins in fact). PTB can be stressful, and for that very reason it's not for everyone; But I don't think it's fair to fault the game itself due to the group someone plays with.

Part of the reason that the killer in TMP2 is more audible is that his voice filter is applied in post, rather than being baked into the clip itself. You can go into the game files to hear Spencer's voice unaltered. It just adds the filter on when it's played back in the game engine.

When my friends and I first played joke boat we all got really good prompts and found it absolutely hilarious. But every time we played it afterwards it just was never as good and we couldn’t understand why. With some more prompts that are less restrictive it could be really fun
