Loved this video. As a big DC collector I’m really jealous of a lot of these high grade books.

Great, great video. I love the Vintage Comic Show & Tell series and this might be the best episode yet. Danny, thank you for sharing your amazing DC keys!

Danny is a real comic connoisseur. As a smaller run completist, I find his larger collection runs and historical knowledge insane. His ability to chat easily on the start and stop #s of a full run, key significances, and how it may have transitioned into something else is geekingly amazing. His discerning eye on the best-looking SA books is also top notched. Danny should show more of his incredible books. The Famous Funnies Frazetta sci-fi covers were truly out of this world. No pun intended. Please keep up these terrific brother show & tell vids 😊👍

Amazing books! There's something to be said about Sheldon Mayer's artwork, the clean lines, composition, expression, etc. a master at his craft! I have a few misc. Sugar and Spike issues and I always marvel at the artwork - especially the covers!

Great video guys. I grew with DC Comics and they are still my collecting preference. It is so great you have a brother who is a true comic collector and you work with your daughter. I am envious.

Hah I knew Action 252 would be first one shown...I had a copy but sold my copy years ago when its value was lower ...I liked both DC and Marvel and had a great silver age collection by late 1980s but sold a lot of collection around 1990. Good to see the older comics. I never ran across an Adventure 247 in 1970s...but kept the Adventure #300-380 as loved series as a kid. After letting go most of my silver age DC (kept Superman Family and Legion titles) I reverted to satisfy my story desire from that age to DC Showcase books etc... Very nice set of B&B JLA And other titles.

Your Brave and Bold # 1 looks beautiful. While the book is not rare, copies as nice as this just aren't available to the average collector. In 1955 (when DC launched Brave & Bold), so-called "sword and sandal" movies were quite popular (think: biblical stories, or Hercules, Ben Hur, Spartacus, Ivanhoe, and so on .... the Dell Four Color series is full of adaptations of these movies, and Fawcett had a few, too). So when comic book publishers were casting about for some safe harbor for action stories, to secure Code approval, the historical swordplay theme might have looked pretty good. EC gave it a try with five issues of Valor, a pretty lovely (if a little staid) comic book. And Atlas (Marvel) published its original run of Black Knight in that era, too. Toby Press had done its own outlier Black Knight issue in 1953. A lot of the other publishers might have been out of the business by mid-1955, but the genre was represented by at least four publishers (Dell, DC. Atlas, EC). The Viking Prince era of Brave & Bold lasted 24 issues. But the book was bi-monthly, so, yeah, the format held with DC for 4 years. I love the series. I do not have them all, but I love the series. The later Viking Prince issues by Joe Kubert are amazing. And, just as a side note, Green Arrow was a back-up to Superboy in practically all of the Golden Age and early Silver Age issues. Same for Aquaman - some bonus heroes for your dime. Adventure was pretty much always a superhero anthology title until the Legion of Superheroes era. I like the Sheldon Mayer stuff, too. I'm partial, especially, to Scribbly, but like Sugar and Spike too. (If you decide to collect that title, be wary; there are paperdolls on the pages within, and a lot of younger-readers' scissor-work is often found inside.

I both enjoy this video as i have just started collecting Brave and the Bold, Showcase, and Justice league of America, and fear this video as now theres more attention on these books lol but Silver age DC is refreshing after years of collecting marvel when for the most part you can get great dc keys at higher grades for often much cheaper than say a silver age spidey in low grade 👍

Love this show. I'm missing X-Men (1963) 1. I waited to buy that as the last issue. Had I bought it ten years ago, I could have gotten a really nice copy. Now, I can afford a 2.0-3.0. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I've got a copy of Adventure Comics #247. No cover but complete with a badly torn first page. I bought a small collection of DC Silver Age last year and the guy gave me a stack of coverless books. Months later I was looking thru them and discovered it. Anybody have a cover that wants to marry the inside of Adventure Comics #247? Great video as usual!
