Silver City Comet Walk Through - Broken Hill

The Silver City Comet connected rail passengers from Broken Hill to Sydney via Parkes from 1937 until 1989.
This set has been preserved at the Sulphide Street Museum. Let's go for a walk through.

Over two-thirds of people smoked back then, and all public transport had smoking and non-smoking seating. You could even have a smoke watching a movie at the Cinema and in the Hospital waiting room, smoking was not demonized. I can recall in the 70s here in Adelaide at school(Locklys Nth PS)our teacher, Mr. Lucas went out into the corridor to have a smoke whilst we drew pictures or read a book.

I remember smoking on planes, but it's just an alien concept now.
