I think you had too much "coffee"...i think your silver tray is not for serving tea....and i think your field test on the tray tested positive for cocaine... 🤧

I bought a Gotham sterling “and other metals” cup from SA for $3, and the markings were almost totally worn off. I looked at it for ten minutes before catching the faint outline of “St....” in certain light. When I got home I was able to make out the markings with a magnifying glass. Sold it for $1,500 in two days. That was my best pick to date and I’m sure of all time. My brother in law who’s also a picker in the same area, saw the cup and passed it up because he couldn’t see the markings a day earlier. Worth spending the extra time and sometimes taking a gamble.

I found 3 small serving trays that have the letters DJ in a circle and underneath is 94 I think 84 is Russian sterling silver but can anyone tell me what the markings mean? Much appreciated!

Hi, it may need to be acid tested

Nice finds. I'm on the hunt for serving ware and go every Sunday to Goodwill. Are you selling what you find? Can you do a video on how you sell it? Is there a way to treat spots where copper shows through or some kind of acid left a mark? I found a few pieces where that's been a problem on something plated.

Is this guy always so frantic and wired in his videos??? It's incredibly hard to watch him bouncing all over the place for the entire length of the video. I'm interested in hearing more of his ideas where to find silver, but I don't think I can tolerate more than about 30 seconds of his fidgety hyperactive delivery...🤪

So if you were worried about it being just silver plated, why didn't you try a magnet before you scratched the f#$@ out of it.?
@maxcadey92236 жыл бұрын
Lots of other metals are non magnetic. The magnet isnt the best test.

A real silver plater that size will be heavy, That's one thing to look for. Another is do the acid test before you buy. Use a file and put acid directly on plate not on fillings.
@skylarfowler79945 жыл бұрын
You should never test something you do not own or do not have permission to do because when you acid test a piece rather Sterling or silverplate you are destroying the value of the piece some pieces are worth a thousand times what scrap would be
