Done a few times before, your electrolyte is fine, try to suspend the piece instead of sitting on the bottom, it helps alot for deplating. And you need MAP gas instead of propane. Propane just doesn't get hot enough. But absolutely love your videos. Expanded my knowledge alot, just hoping to help you alitte with this.

Thanks for the share~! Been waiting for this one. Looked up some of the other similar YT videos in advance. Now you have to save metrics on total costs and see where you can save ...like gas for smelting and a 55 gal drum for all that "copper cottage cheese" There's silver in thar! Agree tho, concentrated acid is serious business and this method looks reasonably SAFE. Now I wait for "Part 2"!

Silver just isn't cost effective to refine alone unless you're dealing with very large amounts, or a bulk wastes from gold refines. However if one were to simply use a torch for removal of the silver from the base, I'm not sure how you would prevent further fusing to the base metal.

Yes! I've been looking forward to this one! I don't know anything about this, so forgive the dumb question, but why use another piece of plate on the positive side. Seems like it would contaminate the final product. What would happen if you used a sterling tray?

Great video but I do have a caution for all who may try this... Make sure you are working in a well ventilated area, running electrolysy in salt water generates Chlorine gas which is toxic in high concentrations. This is exactly how salt systems in swimming pools work.

You should treat your sediment with sodium hydroxide to convert the silver chloride to silver oxide, then add sugar to reduce it to silver metal. Yes, you are leaving a lot of silver on the metal which is quite a waste considering how much effort you have put into it.
