It wasn't bad until Riot fucked with LP gains and matchmaking this season. Meaning we're stuck in low elo longer than necessary. Also if thy Riot just fxed their MMR/LP ranked system people wouldn't need to smurf when their accounts LP gains get perma fucked after a few months of play
