I remember seeing that as a kid and the only moment I remember from it really scared me as a kid (I was about 5 at the time when I saw the movie on TV I think). I did rewatch the movie last year on youtube and it's awful! hahahaha. Talk about Obscurity though. If you weren't born until after the 80s you will not remember this toyline lol. Lightning isn't that old to know about the Hugga Bunch movie when it first came out is she? I remember it from the 80's. If I remember correctly it was about a girl trying to stop her grandmother from aging so she goes off to find a tree with fruit that can either stop the aging process or make her young again. But the berries disappear if they touch the ground. I also remember a sideways road. But that's it. I remember nothing about the actual Hugga Bunch.

Hugga Bunch Movie Basic Storyline from IMDB (somehow won a Primetime Emmy): A young girl named Bridget Severson lives with her parents, brother, and grandmother. Her aunt Ruth comes by regularly too. Everyone but her grandmother, is too busy for hugging or showing affection. She soon finds out that they've talked her grandmother into going to a nursing home. Bridget, being so upset by this, follows a little creature named Huggins through her closet mirror to HuggaLand in search of a way to make her grandmother young again. In HuggaLand, she learns that eating the fruit of the young berry tree can give instant youth. Unfortunately, the only young berry tree grows in the Country/Land of Shrugs. She'll have to cross the sea of broken glass, pass the hairy behemoth, and venture into the evil Queen Admira's castle. Will Bridget succeed?

I did read it got a prime time Emmy for special effects and cost 1.4 million too make which made the most expensive TV special at the time. Other then that I advise a strong drink or two while watching it.

Well, it does have a certain amount of special effects that the 80's were just starting to use, like giving a doll the ability to move and talk, rippling glass on a mirror to simulate 'water' and sounding like a animatronic with the second voice echoing. It's also live-action, and may have a green screen setting to make the background seem real, and seems to be about 48 minutes so it shouldn't be too problematic. You might even like it, as it has someone akin to the Evil Queen from Snow White as the villain, with a sinster castle greyskull manor as her lair. Though I'm not sure if the autograph is real given it looks like a V, a = and part of a 8.

DRWOLF001, truth be told I saw this Made-for-TV movie once before. If you remembered the Muppets... Well, these guys are not Muppets they're like rejected Disney animatronics trying to be huggable, or worst, Teddy Ruxpin. The Elephant reminds me of the camel from Raggedy Ann. And the movie was written by David Swift (the guy who wrote "Pollyana" and the original version of "The Parent Trap"). My sister found those dolls from Garage Sales before the change of times, and they're gone now. And on top of that, the voice of the Worm is the guy who voiced the caterpillar from Disney's "Alice in Wonderland". Good Luck, you are going to need it... And you three guys should make a drinking out of this cute-sy crap.
