I didn’t get to fight the metal Raths before 4th gen. In 4 Ult and Gen Ult I thought they were way too obnoxious for their own good. In Iceborne they were a lotta fun. In this game I think they’re both phenomenal. Hit zones are more forgiving, the new mechanics are sick, the fights are awesome. Love these two now. Hopefully from here on out people are excited at the obvious inclusion of the Metal Raths in master rank expansions instead of annoyed

Chain Crit, Critical Element, Elemental Exploit, Weakness Exploit and Critical Boost in a single build is extremely powerful if you think about it. I can see alot of dual blades mainers go for this incredible set. I am currently using this build and it turned out fantastic! I highly recommend it if you are planning on using an elemental build.

I beat it first try but I think they made the damage a little more forgiving because it’s for MR 10. The moveset itself is quite deadly and challenging. I expect event quests and other quests with the raths to be a lot scarier

Word of warning: a couple of Silver’s attacks have _insane_ stun values, so bring Stun Resistance if possible. I was trying to hyperarmor through some stuff and getting stunned in a single hit.

Love the new additions but I do have to disagree that they are more difficult in this game, I think their IB counterparts were more challenging for sure. Silver Rath's armor set had me stunned when I saw it, I can't imagine it won't be used for elemental builds

TIL some monsters don't have weapons in some trees. CB doesn't have Magma almudron weapons so we use Rakna-Kadaki for fire elemental

“Element Exploit increases the equipped weapon's elemental damage by 30% against parts of a monster that are weak to its element. In order for a monster part to be considered weak to a specific element, it must have an elemental weakness of 25 or more to that particular element. The elemental weaknesses of different body parts for each monster can be found in the hunter's notes.” I’m guessing/assuming that the same rules that apply to the deco apply to the specific skill off of the armor set bonus

W/ that being said…might be possible to stack both elembane deco and armor skill for a total of 45% increased elemental damage against weak monster parts for said specific element which is kind of bonkers when you really think about it considering some of the high elemental weapons at our disposal if that is indeed the case…

a tip for both the metal raths fight, the head becomes a weakpoint when you break it, so if you manage to break the head in it's powered up state you can targe the head without losing damage

Important note for the Metal Raths in general: Once you break their heads, they become weakpoints. With massive elemental bonus as well, if it's still the same. So focusing on the head while in the blue state is doubly important. Outside of these two conditions, only the feet and tail tips are weak spots. Part Breaker and Mind's Eye are two very useful Skills as well for when you bring a weapon with lower sharpness and to expose the head sooner.

As a charge blade main who uses elemental phials with the new element exploit I went from 300 on a full burst explosion to around 336 when hitting a weak spot of 25+. It feels like it adds on since both skills have different triggers that are needed for the boost to happen.

Oh how glad I am that wirebugs are a thing.. I remember DREADing fighting all versions of raths (yes also the base version) in the old world.. With wirebugs and of course aerial DBs I won't be needing to bring flash bombs

I also made that mistake when facing sliver in Iceborn. After winning that fight, I learned of his real weakness. I'm not to surprised that its the same in Sunbreak. I did my research before fighting Silverlos so i did bring my Water element DBs build to his fight so the fight was quicker, but i still had a lot of fun fighting him.

Yeah his dreadking like super hurts, he stunned me in a corner with one of the rocks the fired the final shot which knocked me out of stun but I wasn't able to superman dive in time

You should have a raw oriented and an element oriented DB set for Fire, Thunder and Water. A lot of monsters have really bad hit zones for elements, where elembane won't proc and/or you're better off focusing more on raw than elem. Silver Raths DBs are a good replacement for current BiS, Wyvern Lovers tree, which makes sense! It's literally an upgrade of it.

i also made the mistake of taking dragon elem to fight it and struggled, so after carting i changed to water hoping it would deal more damage since he has fire... i would have used all the farcaster but luckily water worked like a charm...

I think the silver rathalos weopons could possibly be better in some cases if paired with some of the parts of the silver rathalos armor so no need for elembane deco and the slottage of the silver rathalos armors are great so you can still make a viable fire element build

I fought it with Aerial Insect Glaive and had a LOT of Fun :D Bringing down these big Aerial Threats like Rathalos and co. is satisfying as hell. Through Evade Window 4 do I have a lot easier Time to evade the Attacks in addition to my Aerial Manuveur

It should be noted that once you break Silver Rathalos’s head, then it becomes a weak spot. Enough to proc WE for the 50% affinity. Of course you obviously have to break the head but given how he softens it when he goes into his incantation mode, it should be easy

I dont know about the armor skill, but the rampage deco only activates on a hit zone of 25 or more. And not a lot of monsters have hitzones that high for elements.

Late comment. It depends on the monster, breaking a Basarios chest does increase the damage on that body part, while breaking a Barioths claws dosn't increase the damage, but makes him tip over after some attacks.

I felt like a dunce once Hollow mentioned Rathalos was very weak to dragon, since i looked at Rathalos' elemental weaknesses for Silvers, but i locked on water and didn't even notice dragon was higher. Elemental exploit looks interesting but it looks really hard to build around and so far theres no decoration for it and i haven't come across it on armour augment as of yet. Until we can get access to it more easily i think Elemental exploit just isn't worth it rn

Like a lot of set bonuses in sunbreak though it works best at rank 1 where you get the most value per point.

Sadly I don't feel like Element Exploit is that good. The pieces it's on aren't particularly efficient, and there are only a few monsters which you reliably wail on elemental weakspots (HZV 25+ I think?), hell so many of Rise's monsters have garbage elemental HZVs to begin with. 15% is also not great since most of the top element weapons like DBs, don't have enough base elemental damage for that to really help. Percentage increase is great for Raw, flat increases work better for element, in my opinion. But hey, I'm no Meta Chaser, so maybe these are actually really good. During my first runs, I actually remembered their weaknesses from Iceborne, so I went in fully prepared. Swaxe kinda steamrolled both of them.
