Now, I'll show you how to recovery silver from silver keyboards mylar.The amount of silver is not worth the time spent, but it is enough to show the wholl process.Silver drops with hcl 35%.We tried to do the same with the laptops mylars, but as you see ve did not succeed, we'll try it another way in a different way.Thanx for vatching :)

Great video Dusan. Thanks for that step by step process and the time you invested in giving this demo. And, you can pronounce mylar however the heck you want, we will know what you mean :) I am going to write this process down if you don't mind and share with the group in the files.

Hey 999, Greetings from Australia! First time I have seen this video and I want to ask you............ cand you burn all the mylars and then dissolve the powder in HNO3? I know you don't pay a lot for acids but unfortunately, we do, and by incineration, we would only need a very small quantity of nitric. I would love to have your comments in due course.

Hey man great video! Very interesting I have. Even saving the keyboards I will give this a try when I get some more stacked up. Thank you for showing us how to process this and what it can yield.

It took me a while to understand the way you are pronouncing Mylar. The "Y" needs to have the long "i" sound, like the word "ice", not the "u" sound you were using. Don't get me wrong, your English is much, much better than any other language I speak. Keep up the great work. I am saving my keyboard mylars and some black and white 8 mm film too.

Keep them safe, give a very clean silver. The Serbian language is sharp with a sharp letter R and the like, it's hard to break the tongue for English.I learned the language from movies and music, I'm poor with grammar and similar things, but I'm trying to balance hahaha....Thanx mate :)

Nice video, I like your other videos too! But one thing to the allmost end of your video: First you dissolve the mylar-silver with nitric acid HNO3 and than you have silvernitrate AgNO3 in solution. You use HCl (you also can use NaCl Salt, cheaper!) to drop silverchloride AgCl Then NaOH to form some brown kind of silverhydroxid/-oxyd AgOH/Ag2O and salt (NaCl). But that Ag2O you reduce with the suggar to black elemantal metalic Ag2 and something carbonhydroxyd and CO2 (dont know exakt ), but you do never bring the silver back to silvernitrate status after dropping with HCL like you say in the video. Regards and make some more videos!

I convert silver hlorid to silver nitrate vith lye and suggar,just is litle amount and i put lot shuggar vater and i din vaiting to dry :(
@ollim619
@ollim619 7 жыл бұрын
No! You can not convert silverchlorid with lye (NaOH) into silvernitrate. There is no N for the nitrate to build. Your video steps are correct, but not the message what is happening! 1. step you dissolve silver into silvernitrate with nitric acid and make brown fumes (NOx): 3 Ag + 4 HNO3 (nitric acid) -->3 AgNO3 (silvernitrate) + H2O (water) + NO ( the brown fumes) 2. Step give HCl and drop white silverchloride ---filter --> filter, all N is then gone with the liquid and so you can`t build new nitric silver! 3. step AgCl with NaOh (lye) builds AgO and NaCl +H2O suggar C6 H12 O6 reduces the silveroxyd to metall silver

I wonder if you used Acetone on the tougher mylar panels, it might help break up that protective barrier? Or if it would mess up the rest of the process?

So the peroxide stops the Nitric acid from gassing off all over the place, what percentage of peroxide are you adding?
@999DusanGoldrecovery
@999DusanGoldrecovery 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's just a small amount to neutralize the gases. Of course, the amount of silver is not so much that it would be too heavy gases, but the peroxide helps.

Those look real good my friend real thick crystals but I don't really mess with silver I made some and i made some the old way with copper coils and my ingredient s and I made some that were solid like a slab of silver I mean huge and I made gold crystals too them were something else they were thick too but they glared gold when the light hit it like shiny gold beautiful and the gold you can pick up with your hand with out gloves they don't burn ya like silver that's why I don't mess with silver plus silver tends to have lead I don't like it before you refine it and you cant hold em with out gloves it discolor your skin plus it's toxic lol but your silver cell works great

I just did about 3 lbs of maylars using the lye process ( no nitric acid available ) and all silver came off . but when I try to smelt it , it is very hard to smelt and it goes up into smoke . what I have smelted looks like its has gold in it ( the color ) please help
@999DusanGoldrecovery
@999DusanGoldrecovery 7 жыл бұрын
Hmm ... Interesting,I have not done a process so far in this way, I will try once. Did you wash the silverfrom the lye? It might have been with silver strip some other chemical that affects the melting. Sometimes lye it contains small metal balls , the most probable aluminuum, I found them in the opening packs,maybe that make the problem. There are many reasons.Try to find the answeron the facebook group E-gold Recovery & Refining.There are people who know a lot more about it, professionals :)

Try to make a saturated solution with sodium hydroxide and heat it, and then you put in the laptop mylars. The epoxy or that protection film maybe will go away. I just thought about it, so I don't know if it's work. I know it work at the green soldermask on pcb, and that layer looks a lot thicker. Try it and tell me if it works :)

Dusan each key boards make will have used there own amount of silver, I am still facinated by the stopping the off gassing of Nitric acid , was that lab grade or diluted Nitric? Will it affect it for use in Aqua Regia ?

its silver and all but it's not labor friendly, so much effort for so little silver, it would be different if you had 100 KB's but for 1 key board not worth the effort, I'll sell you 5 troy grams for $3.00 and change and that would equal 50 keyboards

There are companies selling acids, searching on the Internet, although you will need special permits to buy from them. You can buy a Nitric in chemicals stores, depending on the country you live in. In fact, it's not so easy to get to Nitric Acid, I need to hard, I know that I am the first time, it's easier now. Like when you lost the verginiti of hahaha :)

all this recovering stuff is pretty interesting, but I think U wont gain anything doing this in a houshold. This has to be done in an industrial process, where "they" might as burn all this stuff at first to collect the ashes from it.
