You should use copper to pull out the silver through cementation. When you convert to chloride with salt and then go to melt, you lose between 10-25% of your silver and release chlorine gases. You could boil the chloride with zinc (even use nails), then use boiling hcl to rid of any excess zing, then melt. Will be less dangerous, and much better yield.
