Talk to me about the Coyotes at cheelah because It’s just Not Happening. I saw your comment about the first flight of stairs and calling every 10 minutes or so and thats not working for me. Ive had to spawn back in 4 times just to change the wind direction to be in favor of the calls I’m getting back.

That one about drove me insane, too. I think the long and the short of it is that there’s no foolproof way to complete that coyote-hunting mission and the only thing that works indefinitely is diligence. Actually I had given up on the mission after some months of trying to complete it. Lo and behold, right when I was about to leave Layton altogether, a coyote showed up (at the watchtower) at the last minute. I probably won’t happen the same way for each person. Best advice I can give is just not to give up. 😫

Oh and I did find that making sure to explore the entirety of Cheelah (just in case you aren’t already doing that) and making the rounds is sometimes easier than ambush hunting. If you hear a coyote and can somehow scale a ridge to look down on it - or even to spot one at a level surface even at a great distance - you can take one down even if he’s far. Just has to not be *too* far.

I ended up knocking the mission out. What I did was start at the tower but like I said the wind just did not cooperate with me so I moved down to the lake. I started on the east side since it was the side closest to the tower and I wasn’t exactly quiet when I came in to stir something up. After hearing the warning calls I hit ‘em with the ole razzle dazzle. I had to get one and fast travel back to camp and repeat the process so things could cool down. I got both of them around 04:45 before the sun came up.

Im fairly new to the game but I didn’t realize how popular it was and how large of a community plays it. I’ve seen the multiplayer option but I haven’t checked it out yet. I just got home from an overseas deployment so all I have is time right now. I miggght have also bought the AR pack to skip the hassles of the .270. Im still not going to buy the bloodhound though. 💀

Glad it worked out! Like I said that particular mission is a bear. The game is indeed popular and incredibly addicting. Oh and I agree about the dogs - my brother tried it out but he prefers hunting without them.
