Did you have to book ALL your lunch and dinner table for the whole cruise - upon check-in? Or there was in fact space for everyone even without strict booking ahead?

No lunch reservations req’d. Reservations for dinner req’d for specialty dining (everything other than main dining room).

Or it it that the ships are far from filled. I have watched several videos lately and it appears at least in the ones I have seem that they are sailing at between a third and half capacity. and far from all.

Any dress code at all? Is there a gym inside the spa area? And is the internet stable throughout the crossing (especially in open sea)?

I would advise smart casual during the day. Dress for dinner. Formal nights are jackets for men, smart dress for women….not tuxedos and long dresses unless you want to.

Internet great in the ports, wouldn’t count on it too far out to see. But you really don’t want to be on a device.

What was the usual age of passengers? 60+? Did you need to make an appointment if you wanted to use the laundrette?

@@loraontheroad No, no. The average age is 55+. When I sailed with Silversea last year there were some people in their late forties as well. But no children. There is absolutely nothing for a child to do on these ships.

@@silk2949 I got this. Hope we don’t stick out in a bad way as we are def not in the age group described. There is a swimming pool and hope the Internet connection is reliable as my kid is homeschooled. It all depends on the kid. What it disturbs me the most, is the fact, Silver Shadow changed its initial itinerary and instead of stopping for a day on Greenland will make one long monotonous journey from Northern Ireland to Northern Canada… it will be at least 5-6 days just ocean… Any experience with Oceania’s Insignia? Just 2 years older than Silver Shadow but double the capacity…
