Celebrating 25 years of Great Dorset Steam
The 1993 Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant
Hinton, Nr Blandford Forum was a very
special event.
Show organiser, Michael Oliver, had decided that
the twenty fifth anniversary of the show just had
to be celebrated in spectacular style.
One hundred showman's engines were brought
together for the show and these are featured in
detail along with dozens of ploughing and agricul-
tural engines, steam rollers, wagons and cars.
Special attention is given to the famous
Amalgamated Heavy Haulage section, as
multiple combinations do battle with the test hill
on various loads.
Heavy haulage on the road is also seen to good
effect as a railway locomotive from the Swanage
Railway is hauled to the show.
Over 200,000 people witnessed this year's show.
