Hello,...this is Greg Collier (original member of the band Silver) sitting here reading everyone's comments. I am sure I can speak for the rest of the guys when I say that we really appreciate it and it's awesome to know that you all enjoyed it. Pretty surprised they chose it for the movie, but very glad they did. Soup...soup

Lyrics: Starry nights, sunny days I always thought that love should be that way Then comes a time that you're ridden with doubt You've loved all you can and now you're all loved out Oooh-oooh baby, we've been a long, long way And who's to say where we'll be tomorrow Well my heart says, no But my mind says, it's so That we've got a love Is it a love to stay We've got a wham, bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing Wham bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing Looking at you I wanted to say I think a little emotion goes a long, long way Careful now don't get caught in your dreams Look out baby this is not what it seems Oooh-oooh baby, you've been so good to me But please don't make it what it's not Well, I thought we agreed on what we need So listen to me and I'll tell you what we've got We've got a wham, bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing Wham bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing I think you're seeing what I'm saying 'Cause I hear you singing to the tune I'm playing Now that it's said and we both understand Let's say our goodbyes before it gets out of hand Bye, bye baby, I'd really like to stay But we'll remember the best time in our lives We had a wham, bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing Wham bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing Wham bam shang-a-lang And a sha-la-la-la-la-la thing

@writerforlifeifyАй бұрын
And that is precisely why I've been planning to write a letter to the CEO & Head of Operations at Walmart--the biggest retail corporation on the planet--urging it to serve as the vanguard of a return to harmonic, melody-driven, love-centric, feel-good (earworm) classics for their stores' playlist. My hope is that all other major retailers will follow suit. As a '70s child, I am thoroughly disgusted by current store 'music' in retail, grocery stores included. Repetitive, soul-less, low-vibe, autotuned, computer/AI-generated, vocal-fry GARBAGE that I personally experience as an assault on both my ears & spirit. It truly depresses & sickens me; so often I have either avoided certain stores or cut my visits there short for THAT reason alone. And there's the issue of volume--always too damn high. Current songs CAN be included in today's store music provided they meet the feel-good criteria set by the classics of yesteryear. This is a passion project of mine. One should not have to wait 50 years to hear a gem like this one from Silver in the course of grocery-shopping. These are small but priceless heart-stirring highlights in anyone's day. I say "anyone" because younger generations can benefit from what may their only introduction to the beautiful 'real' music I was blessed to hear in my formative years.

Although Guardians of the Galaxy was a welcome revival for this classic, I am here after remembering all the one-hit wonders. This band should have been much bigger with all the help it had with this single.The band has roots stretching into the Eagles (Bernie Leadon's relatives play guitar), Grateful Dead (Brett Mydland has had their keyboards), Kenny Rogers (guitarist Greg Collier was in the First Edition), and the drummer Harry Stinson has been on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Lead singer John Batdorf is a Who's Who of songwriting credits, cartoon voices, backing vocalist for the best acts and even has been a member of different acclaimed folk-rock duos - he's still doing the Vegas circuit. Clive Davis, then the head honcho for Arista records, produced this and the only Silver album himself.

My childhood...my entire life, actually. LOVE this song. My parents owned a sports bar in WI in the 70's and music defined my entire life growing up there from 2-10 (house was attached to the bar). Going with my mom to buy new records and change them out on the jukebox...that was my favorite of all memories. I fell asleep every night to the greatest music ever made (like this song).
