Silverado console paint and swap!

great video again keep up the good work did you ever think of taking the rest of the pieces under the main dash and paint them the same color as the center and go with a two tone dash do the kick panel and find a carpet the same color of grey that look pretty dope

Mine doesn't fit like that. My truck is an 01 extended cab and I took the console from an 04 ss silverado. Think because the piece under the radio is still in my truck. I'll try to get it fixed. Crazy I've been rocking it like for years and was too lazy to see what everyone else was doing to overcome this issue

I'd like to know how you got the power options to work on your truck... I'm having trouble with mine. I've got the motors and harnesses to properly plug everything in. But not working as it should... Wondering if I need to swap the whole dash out with another one

The power options for the center console all plugged in besides the rear radio control and sub.

I know this is a random question, but what size are bolts that bolt all the center console pieces together? Like the ones in the bottom of the storage cubby and top. Got a full size console for my truck but it’s missing the hardware.

For the color matching interior go with SEM Very Dark Pewter, should be an exact match. Look into the process before you do it though so you can do it properly.

Lmc truck has the correct color options for these trucks and others, I ordered through them instead of hassling through the colorbond website for a while, I repaint a lot of stuff and it works great, I recommend colorbond adhesive and colorbond clear coat too👌🏽

I see you are still replying to comments so I will make one, I just did this swap but without putting in the console bracket. I have heard that you can install the bracket and then lift the console a little off the ground and install the bolts when the console meets the dash so it looks flush. I can post some links to what I am talking about if you are interested although I know you already did the double din swap so that it covers the gap but still. I haven't tried using the bracket to mate the console and the dash but will being doing that tomorrow hopefully and I will comment and let you know how it went

@@travisloper864 There is a bracket that just bolts into the dash pick up the console as far as you can and bolt it into the bracket. I think I posted some pictures on a truck forum I am on. Maybe I have some on my computer I can't remember It is really easy though and you will notice it instantly

I’m in the middle of swapping my 06 2500hd WT interior to a 2003 2500hd LT interior and have run into a lot more trouble that I thought I would. Luckily for me I bought an entire donor cab for the swap. Looking forward to your next video on the process maybe it will help me finish my truck!

Eric, when you are sitting in the truck is the console high enough to rest your arm against it or does it feel like you are having to slump over to reach it? It looks better than a jump seat but a jump seat is comfortable.

It sets high enough to rest your arm on a jump seat sets a lil higher. But if you swap out the seats with tahoe or suburban seats they have a fold down arm rest that will take care of that problem.

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado single cab I was trying to do the same thing but my dssh seems like different the glove box outer trim does not come apart it's like a one-piece deal goes all the way across to the driver side, I found a console from a 2001 Chevy Avalanche that has the same one piece - like mine it's the older style two-piece console with the cassette tape deck lol, but I wanted the one piece console from the 03-06 like you did any suggestions on how to get this thing to fit my truck

Why dont you try a 2 tone interior? Like let the lower half be light colored and the top half be dark. And do all the snap on pieces of the door panels the light color. Some newer trucks come factory that way

Great video, I’m thinking of doing this to my 2000 Chevy Silverado single cab. I believe same as yours. I’m thinking either do the vinyl paint or a step up and cover with alcantara or suede. Maybe a tad bit more pricey like 100 bucks but what do y I think of a suede center console?

You should’ve used a 99-02 center console. Then you’d have 3 charger ports instead of only two, & the console lid has a lock on it. 99-02 consoles also have a cassette player which can be removed & replaced with a 2nd storage pocket.

I kept the tape player, as it can be connected to the main factory cd player radio, & use a $5 cassette adapter for your aux input.

The Silverado console is NOT the same as Tahoe and suburban yes they have the same mounting points and hardware but the cup holder and center storage compartment are different shape and size and Tahoe and suburbans have a locking center console and the Silverado does not. Also the Tahoe and suburban have a rear radio control unit in the rear of the console above the cup holder and the Silverado does not.

No I didn't hook up the sub yet you have to swap body harnesses to use the sub unless you just run wires to it.

You have to notch out the side of the console and cut and weld and modify the 4x4 shifter to come out the side of the console.
