Just like human babies, animals sometimes do not let daddy or mommy sleep. In this case, it was daddy's turn not to sleep. But honesty, dad did not seem to mind and actually enjoyed his daughter next to him. So peaceful to watch.

The view of Thandie's body next to her dad's foot is indicative of how big Matadi is in relation to his baby, it's almost bigger than she is! This is a well balanced family, Mayani is not uptight with Matadi being close interacting and bonding with Thandie. Thx SV for another heartwarming video....

This is so amazing. Here is this huge animal that could probably lift a car. He could snap anyone of us in two with little effort. To stand beside him would make anyone or anything afraid. Yet here is this tiny girl putting her fingers in his mouth and her foot in his face, interrupting his nap.To her, he’s just “daddy” the big pushover.

Not sure how I missed this one. The shots are amazing. It really says a lot about Matadi that Mayani trusted him to be in such close contact with Thandie when she was this young. Many other encounters like this I have watched, the mom swoops in when she sees the youngster getting too near the silverback. Really touching. Thanks!!

@Voracious Reader , because of how Momo tries to get close to Kintaro and watches for Mom's permission.I know they are strong and have to die down their strength for the baby. But Momotaro has shown a lot of restraint and respect of Moms wishes to keep away but you can see in his behavior he wants to interact with his son. The siblings and Father always seem fascinated by a new baby. Also, How can you say "how do i know?" when I can also ask you, "How do you know he doesn't? You are accusing me with assuming when you are doing the SAME damn thing. Dads usually are very gentle with the babies. Genki is a very nervous Female and with Gentaro being taken to be hand reared for her milk not coming in and returned later to Mom, she has no doubt a protective instinct more for Kintaro maybe because she fears him being taken away too. Anyway, this comment was months ago. Maybe you don't watch Momotaro's family or know the history? Anyway, not sure why "I" was targeted for your comment alone.Im agreeing to the original post. Seems you are the one out of the loop of this comment thread here.

Mary Eddy I disagree, there’s a night and day difference in temperaments between Matadi and Momotaro. Momo has never looked at Kintaro with this kind of gentleness and love.

It seems nobody can say or do the right thing. You don't let people have their own opinions on how they see things, calling people arrogant and silly. Hi @SloggerVlogger, I visited the beautiful Antwerp gorilla family today and they say HI to you 😍 Thandie was cute and active as ever. Baby Vizazi is soooo small compared to her. Mama Mambele took good care of V but also drank her own milk when feeling thirsty 😉 They were all enjoying a chill sunday afternoon, except for BUSY toddler Thandie. (I have a nice picture of new mama+baby+toddler but I dont know how to post it here)
