This is the 2nd video I have watched from you. The 1st was after your 1st round. This video made me cry. My mom had 3c colon cancer and I was her caregiver and she is now 6 years in remission! I was diagnosed the same month and year you were. It is very scary and surreal. I had my surgery in March of 2023 and 12 rounds of chemo that ended in Julyof 2023. I had 1 small spot in my liver but as of October of 23 I was NED and the best news you want to hear. I think you’re amazing and inspirational and I keep you in my prayers. We can do this!

I was diagnosed with stage 4 Rectal cancer in April. Sadly due to a intestinal operation 25 years ago what most people would notice has symptoms were a daily event for me for decades. Since my diagnoses I have opted for putting off any colon/rectal surgery until all other options are performed. I endured 28 rounds of mapped radiation and oral Chemo. My metastasis was one spot on my lung. I am currently in the middle of my Chemo infusion plan. I fear the possibility of a bag more than I can express. I am so Happy for you. So so happy

Sorry to read of your diagnosis. Is it a big spot on your lung? Are you responding well to the radiation/chemo? Are the treatments working? Don’t fear the bag. You learn to deal with it and it’s better than the alternative. I always say you have to rock it with confidence. I am 100% able to live my normal life with it. My catch phrase is, “I poop out my gut instead of my butt…so what?”. lol Stay strong and keep up the good fight my friend. We got this!

@@GeorgeLangabeer actually I've been handling my teams treatment plan (albeit, under direct order from me of surgical restrictions.. aka bag) we began with 28 rounds of mapped radiation to my tumor, along with oral Chemo. My CT scan showed my tumor decreased greatly and the one small spot on my lung did a little as well. I am in the middle of my infusion Chemo plan. I had my second PET scan. The spot on my lung is now almost invisible to me. My team meets this week to discuss my treatment and surgery plan.

That is great news! Did you have radiation treatments as well? My husband was diagnosed July 28th 2-3 stage colon rectal cancer. Hes on he just finished his 3rd radiation treatment out of 5 and October 3rd he will begin the Folfox chemo. Im so nervous of the side effects. He will have 4 rounds 8 treatments from my understanding. Thank you for posting your journey with cancer, very helpful information. Ill be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

Wow! That is AMAZING!!!! June '23 I was diagnosed with stage 2 rectal cancer. I just finished radiation/oral chemo 12 days ago. Now facing chemo on Monday, Sept 25. I AM TERRIFIED, but I am hopeful after watching this video. Thank God you are doing so well!!!!! Did you do anything "special" that helped you with chemo side-effects?

❤️🙏🏻. I wish I could tell you I had a magic formula that helped me, but I really just got lucky with the side effects. It hits everybody so differently. All I know is, in my case it was all worth it because IT WORKED! Thank goodness. I know it’s scary. This disease absolutely sucks. My only advice is, go into it with positivity, a fight-to-win attitude and remember you are there for a reason….to kick cancer’s ass! Thank you for sharing & I hope it goes as well as it possibly can. Keep me updated!

Congratulations, George! How often will you be going for diagnostic scans (and what types) to make sure it doesn't come back or, if it does, to catch it early enough to successfully treat it again?

Thanks! As I said in the video, I’ll be doing one of two things….1. Going in every two weeks for maintenance chemo, in which they will monitor my labs every two weeks. OR 2. I get a break from chemo and I do scans every 3 months to check for reoccurrence.

Because I’m 49 now & the screening age chanced the same year I got my colonoscopy (which was last year). So when I was 45 the age was still 50. If I would have got the colonoscopy at 45 it would have been too early to catch this.

However, the US Preventative Services Task Force changed their guidelines from 50 to 45 just recently in 2021. Do you know which of the two guidelines the insurance companies use?
