I saw Nigel Harrison walking down the King's Road in London and I almost fainted I had such a huge crush on him! He was really sweet and gave me the two Silverhead buttons he was wearing. Silverhead was great ...

The sexy , sassy, & slightly silly 70s. I wish I could back in time to either. 75 to 79 or 85 to 89. I love ❤️ 💚 Michael Des barres's outfit. When I was skinny I had one just like it.😂 Fabulous. He was & still is soooo hot.

Small world, ain't it? I was at that one as well. Had to poxy well hitch all the way back to Edgware (the choice was go before the end and get a train home, or stay till the end and get stranded in the middle of bumfuck nowhere). Guess what happened. Believe me, it was a right pain in the arse tottering along all them back country roads at night in platform boots with 4" heels on 'em. Thank Christ there's no photos of me from then! Still one of the most underrated bands ever to exist.

This band was great. Unfortunately, there were no enough care to release them as they deserved in Brazil. I was thirteen when I bought their first album, "Silverhead" in a record shop in Brasilia, where I lived in the 1970's. I really loved this album at first audition, although my friends simply have usually ignored the existence of the band. They only knew Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabath, Uriah Heep. But to me, the first album of Silverhead is so great as are Led Zeppelin IV, Machine Head or Paranoid.

My gawd ......why would you spend time on this when you had the real thing in "Raw Power"? No surprise this bunch went nowhere fast (apart from Nigel).... Although huge in west LA ofcourse , especially at Bingenheimers' ,where he indeed was . "part of the glam rock music scene of the 70s"👍😄 The guy realy fancied himself .......He might've made it the current musical wasteland though........ There was ofcourse more to him ,reputed to be a smart guy. He should've used that talent though and not let his smart senses be clouded by sycophant opportunistic music bizz hacks.

In a way I have to give Des Barres credit though…for almost half a century, he kept telling a mostly disinterested world that he was a rock and roll star and at a certain point, enough people wearily said “Ok, ok Michael you’re a star…now please give it a rest.” The band is decent but couldn’t write a song to save their lives.

I saw the great Humble Pie - featuring the incomparable Stevie Marriot - at Leicester Polytechnic, England on 19th February 1972. Apparently, the band Silverhead were The Pie’s support group that night but I have no memory of Silverhead’s performance. Naturally, I wanted to find out what Silverhead sounded like. Oh dear, if this video is anything to go by, they were an ensemble of sub Rockin’ Glam Rock narcissists. Their lead singer was particularly enamoured of himself in being a pouting and bare chested prima donna named Michael Des Barres who was the 26th Marquis Des Barres, don’t you know! (Des Barres’ noble title is a rank between a Duke and an Earl). I’ll doff my cap to this entitled chap Des though - if I may be a little forward and address him as such - as he could actually sing, sing in a style that was rather like Marriot’s but without the Stevie’s effortlessly powered vocal delivery and manly rock tone. I have never encountered a Silverhead fan in all my years. I think I now know why having watched this video. And Des’s apparent noble title of Marquis places him, in my view, amongst Rock’s commoners who are a considerable social distance below true Rock Royal like Crowned King, Stevie Marriot.
