I shure do wish we still printed notes as beautiful as that large size 2 doller note. Thanks for making this video happen Jason. Fun fact- Thare is a black eagle note that came from a titanic survivor named H. Weikman. On the back he wrote "this note was in my pocket when picked up by the S.S. Carpathia from the wreck of S.S. Titanic April 15th 1912". The note is graded by pcgs currency.

Why is there no Date on the $1 dollar State bank note of New Brunswick?
@SandmanCnC754 жыл бұрын

I dont know the whole story but the red sealed USA notes are from the "Bretton Woods system" of printing where the Gold Standard was still in play. Richard Nixon announced in 1971 that we would no longer be able to exchange paper dollars for gold. eventually, both the gold and silver standard were dropped, and youll notice that the silver content from coinage around this time was phased out. By the end of the 60s, most coins were minted in base metals, and the paper currency was no longer backed by any physical commodity.

I have a 1917 $1.00 United States Note in my collection that has fire damage to it. which Makes you wonder where the bill was when fire started or who had it in 1917 and the best part is that its still in crisp condition. But my favorite banknotes are the red seal notes. Have lots of 2.00 bills and a few 5.00 bills. Missing the 1928 red seal $1.00 bill and the 1966 $100 dollar bill.
