Mahalo for this closer look at the blooms and the whole blooming plant from bottom to top. I'm also happy to see so many young silver swords all around up there. It feels so much safer for them there amongst the lava than those that you've shown that were near other vegetation and walking trails.

Wow! There are so many of them. I was fascinated by the rare silverswords I saw on the drive up to Haleakala in the 1980s. It's good to see that the silversword recovery efforts on Mauna Kea seem to be successful.

I remember reading that they grew on the Big Island as well as Haleakala on Maui. Makes me wonder, how do they get dispersed to those isolated alpine environments?
