Following Slocan lake north on Hwy 6 to the town of Silverton, BC

I actually tried to check that place out but it was closed. I did walk around outside though. In a normal year it would probably be open.

Its such a beautiful area but also a hard pace to live with the huge amout of snow in the winter.

my entire family comes from this area, my dad and grandfather used to ply the lakes as captain and first mate on the roseberry and ss moyie ( now a museum in kaslo), my moms dad worked the silver mines out towards sandon, another very cool place , many years ago there was the actual wooden sluice that ran down the side of silverton. we spent many days in silverton and slocan and new denver. my dad was on the paddlewheeler that was towing a train on a barge when it broke her back and sank.

Wow! That's so amazing. Your dad had a very important job. Thank you for the information Brett. That was the end of an era that's for sure. You got to grow up in the area while it still resembled what it once was. One really has to look to find any of the old structures and even the tailings are being covered up. I'm even able to notice a difference in the few decades I've been going there. I imagine it would've been a great time and place to explore as a kid growing up. I'll have to ask around about that wooden sluice next time I'm there. That would be interesting to see.

Sandon is an interesting ghost town. If possible, if you can make a video in the sandon, I would be happy. stay healthy.

the "rail car" looks like an average ore car from within the mine notice it has a tipping body tipped forward as if to dump the term rail car to me and perhaps others would be a larger locomotive hauled type BIG car it seems they were not big at all ... maybe pack 3 to 5 tonnes each...still if high grade ore worth some money BUT with an average depth of 500 feet on Slocan Lake it would be very dangerous to dive on unless very close to shore perhaps on a shallower shelf....l heard Bill mention it years ago too but always assumed they were bigger cars...and a much bigger treasure...liked and subbed !
