Steady Craftin videos are made with the help of DIRECT SUPPORT: www.patreon.com/steadycraftin (You'll also get access to the printable 3D scans of my original sculpted figures, MP3s, exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, shop discounts, and more.) My family and I are so grateful that I get to do this.

When I get on here and start replying to y'all, it sometimes feels like I'm talking to the best of the best viewers on KZbin. Like if there had been a bottle of "Premium KZbin Viewers" that was poured out on my channel, but someone didn't read where it said "CONCENTRATED - ADD WATER (OR NEGATIVE VIEWERS)". So there's no dilution - just overabundance of Premium KZbin Viewers commenting all up on my videos. Eeeeeeevery once in a while there's a negative one. But not enough to detract from the overwhelmingly positive. This may have not been the best illustration, but it's how my mind does.

Jennifer - I'm so sorry for your losses. I just experienced the same thing plus one day I went out for a 15 minute errand and when I got back home, my dog had died. Do you have a SPOON BOX now? It makes sense once you've seen it, but I never thought of that before. I could probably get fifty pounds of spoons by just going to the two or three thrift stores closest to me, this is a rich field. I really liked the part where he's inviting us to pick out a spoon from the box full. I have called this kind of material "Metamaterials" since they aren't RAW materials, they're already worked, and have some kind of story, and their own texture and so on. Our host is seeing them in a different way than the factory. As opposed to if you melted them down and cast something, for example. They keep some of their history. It comes to me just now that there are probably whole books about this idea and I'm just thinking about it here! Well, I got a lot out of the video about silver-soldering, so I'm up for any new production now. So, I guess I'll make something out of a SPOON, why not?

Aww, that is mighty nice of y'all! :D I'm telling you ahead of time, it will be hard to go back to bending silverware (or other metal things) any other way. :D The curves are nice and uniform, and it makes it so easy. I've even bent thick stainless steel handles on this thing. If the plastic/delrin/nylon parts ever wear down, they sell replacements. I've yet to replace mine, though, and they look pretty rough. :D Holler if y'all have any questions about it! ( thecrafsman@gmail.com ) And thanks again for your consideration!

Crafsman, I NEED that elephant pendant! My daughter goes to the University of Alabama and this would make a great Christmas present! If you sold these in your shop you'd make a killing. Love you, Dude!
@TheCrafsMan

It's a good thing I didn't show y'all the elephant I made with an etched "A" Alabama logo in it, then. ;) I sell these locally, and someone requested that, so I etched it into stainless steel and added black embossing paint. I quit selling them when I realized you actually need licensing, which costs MONEY. :/

Hi Craftsman from a 71 year old, always learning, from across the pond in England. You look much like me, a human squirrel, not wanting to throw anything away because it might just come in handy one day.😅 I've got 50+ years of all sorts of stuff, or should I say junk, over three stories of the house and garage, my children and now grandchildren and their friends love exploring, to them it's like an Aladdin's cave where they can find something to fix, something to take apart, it doesn't matter if it doesn't go back together, learn how to use tools, most of all be inquisitive and try something new. I've got 5 grand kids from 18 - 9, all independent, like to solve their own problems, determined not to give up and most important not afraid to ask for help when they get stuck. Recent projects with them, doing some Lichtenberg wood burning, making a leaded window with cathedral glass the old way, restoring an old chiming mantel clock, sand casting some lead toys, teaching the younger two to TIG weld, taught the older ones a while ago, and so it goes on, I need 24 hour days and 14 day weeks, I know what a lot do with them would have the Heath and Safety folk have a fit but I make sure they are safe, the odd cut, burn't finger from a soldering iron or blood blister always teaches them to take care 😉. I've subscribed to your channel, though I'm not sure it was a wise thing to do,🤔 😊 they have gone through all your vids and now I'm having to gather together some bits and bobs for copper etching and they have selected a pile of junk from my scrap boxes and bits from my engine black museum ( bits from engines and gearboxes that had self destructed ) to make some, as they call them, treasures similar to your silver soldered masterpieces, though some may have to be welded. So keep up the good work, if just one or two folk try something new from your vids they're a winner, likewise if your vids create that inquisitive, I can do it, hands on, inventive spark in some children, it will set them up for a life of wonder. My spark came from mum and dad, when I was small we had very little money, if we couldn't afford something, mum or dad always found a way of making or altering something, it just takes that little spark and a bit of time to create a lifetime fire of awe and interest in children................. sadly, today, so many kids don't get the chance ! Take care.

I can't begin to tell you how much this comment means to me. I had a big smile on my face, and a steady nod of agreement as I read along. You sound like an outstanding dad/granddad! You're teaching them things that not only become skills in their toolbox later on, but solid memories to stay around forever. Just wonderful, reading this. Feel free to email me any time, my friend: thecrafsman@gmail.com All the best to you and your family!

thanks you again!! i want to offer you a tip. this is more about rolling little tapered bars of soft material. if you use your fingers, make sure you get more than one revolution as you roll it out. otherwise, you may end up with a flattened workpiece versus a round workpiece. it's a ceramic trick...i enjoy your humour and craftsmanship and attention to details. great show!
