What's worth remembering is that for the same reasons _we_ can't explore below a certain depth without being crushed, along with most remote vehicles or equipment we try to send down there, most life that is down there can't come _up_ past a certain depth. When you evolve to withstand pressure _that intense,_ your whole body is kept in its proper shape by that very pressure. Deep sea life basically expands from the inside out if it is yanked out of its proper habitat for that reason, usually killing them very quickly. The blobfish you may have seen pictures of does _not_ look like that down where it lives. That was a dead one that bloated because it no longer had the pressure it needed to keep its proper form. Life down there is quite literally built different, because it _has to be_ in order to exist that far down.

A few things I know about sharks and whales. 1. Hammer heads sharks weird head shape is basically a cheat code. Sharks have special organs called Ampullae of Lorenzini which is basically a jelly fillled tube in poors on there face that reacts to slight electrical pulses that the body gives off. Hammer heads have a larger number of these poors on there face to the point of being able to sense a stingray hidden in the sand. 2. Orcas have no natural predators this is mostly because there hyper intelligent, and live in pods. The most dangerous time of ones life is probably childhood but even then with them being social animals even that is pretty safe compared to other animals. 3. Orca's dont eat or attack humans in the wild, and this could be due to multiple factors. The leading theory is because Orcas are very picky eater. Each pod of Orca has a specific diet that is kept through tradition. This is likely due to them teaching there hunting strategies to there young. Another reason is likely because all things considered we are not a reliable food source for an animal in a completely diffrent habit. 4. Sharks are usually passive and most of them are more scared of you then you are of it. The only sharks you will have to be careful around are Great White's, Bull Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Mako sharks and I believe black tip's. And all of theses (except bullsharks) wouldnt hurt you on purpose. (Also the guy who removed the hook from that shark did so with a tiger shark one of the sharks to be warry of and its pretty sweet.) 5. While yes sharks can smell blood in the water, due to multiple experiments they will only really be attracted to fish blood most of the time. And even then the "smelling blood" thing is a bit blown out of proportion. 6. Megaldons do not exist in our oceans any more. An animal of that size would have been seens by now even if its just a dead one. It doesn't help that they weren't deep sea hunter's and were most likely hunting near the surface of the ocean. They also most likely went extinct due to a cooling world, and smaller predator like Orcas out competing them in a world that was starting to freeze over. All in all Sharks (like any animal) are only dangerous if you as an individual dont respect there space. Keep your distance, be respectful to the animal, and dont be dumb and youll be fine. Most animal related deaths are due to someone doing something stupid. Remember that learning about the world will help you lead a better, healthier life.

Dogs aren't more dangerous than sharks are. The sharks that attack humans are larger and more powerful than any canid. The reason why dog attacks are more frequent is because we interact with dogs FAR more often than we do with sharks.

6:07 Likely because it was curious, most shark bites are exploratory or mistaken identity. Sharks can't see very well, and if they encounter something, they see something that vaguely looks like prey so they want to check it out, problem arises when a shark is so large and powerful, a simple test bite can cause SEVERE damage to a human 13:36 have a skeleton made of cartilage, and what separates them from other cartilaginous fish is their body shape, fins, and teeth 17:02 aside from humans, nope. Nothing preys on Orcas. Also Megalodon was probably too big and slow to hunt Orcas and mostly focused on latger baleen whales 24:50 No they are not, Greenland Sharks and Sand Tiger sharks are two completely different species of sharks

Sometimes shark attacks happen when their prey moves up shore closer to people. Sometimes people have been feeding them during poorly planned out ocean touring. The shark then learns where the food comes from by watching the peoples movements and will go for those parts of the body thinking food is there. Happened some years ago with a city that was doing shark feeding tours. So many bitten hands and butts.

The woman who got her leg bit was in Egypt. The people who were running the beach had been warned about sharks in the area as lots of hotels and restaurants were throwing their food waist in the water (basically chumming up the water with the food waste) and when the women had gone out on a snorkelling boat and was swimming she got attacked by a tiger shark on the hand and the butt. After this another woman got bitten in the same areas by the same shark. They managed to track the shark by a notch on its dorsal fin only to find that a shark researcher had been hand feeding the shark using a pouch on his but. During this time 3000 sharks were hunted and killed in the area and more were in the following months. Hand feeding sharks was also banned as it was already being debated but this proved that it was necessary to be banned.

If you bite it and you die, it's poisonous. If it bites/stings you and you die, it's venomous. And with jellyfish it is venom, but the scars left over look like electric bolts hence why SpongeBob portrays jellyfish stings as electric.

2:49 I wouldn't think you'd die from it - it'd hurt like hell and make you rethink letting the intrusive thoughts win, but you should be fine save for a very bad time with the venom in your system. Don't quote me on this though - just making that observation cause it doesn't look like one of the more well-known deadly cnidarians from what I can tell 2:54 Jellyfish aren't electric - Mikey is right in that its toxins. Jellyfish have little cells called nematocysts running all along their tentacles that fire a small harpoon like bit to it that both delivers the venom and helps keep prey ensnared 6:42 Thats a goblin shark, which are typically found in deeper waters and around Japan iirc. Its "nose" is also covered in electroreceptors all over it (iirc), providing much more surface area to better detect prey. They also have this weird ability to essentially launch their jaws forward to catch food (as was shown here 27:49). Casual Geographic actually has a collab video where him and LindsayNikole talked about it. 12:12 Fun fact: Nurse Sharks are called that because they suckle on their food 13:38 A lot of animals actually do this - and is potentially to counter predators that can see ultraviolet light - so developing that was probably to both allow other members of their species identify them as well as hide from predators. Cause if they lacked it, I'd assume predators or rival species would just need to look at whatever *isn't* glowing in their UV vision 15:20 the reason hammerheads and similar species have that headshape is cause that gives them a wider field of vision and gives more surface for sensory organs to have better accuracy at pinpointing food 28:43 for anyone wondering that don't know, the River Thames is known for being very dirty sometimes due to the occasional sewage discharges
